i just threatened to cancel and got a 'BRAND NEW' sky+ with no multi room installed for £65!
They tried to get me to to pay the additional £10 a month but i stuck to my guns and told them to cancel my subscription. Did the trick, i will now use my other box as a freeview.
does anyone no how this is connected as a freeview box? does it need to be connected to the satalite dish or a tv arial?
Hi there,
First post so please play nice
Quick question for natanddan1 can I ask what subscription package you are on (if thats not a rude question!)? I'd like Sky plus but I'm only on the £19.50 family pack and dont want to spend any more!!!
Cheers,

You have to either pay an extra ten pounds a month to use sky+ or take out a movie or sports package. When I phoned I managed to get the £65 offer after being transferred to four different people and threatening to cancel my subscription but the cheapest subscription she offered me was for movie package at £36. Told her I'd get back to her.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

I phoned up and asked about Sky+. The person on the phone told me that because I didn't want multi room it would cost me £199 eeeekkkk.
I telephoned the next day and asked to be put through to cancellation department and told them that I could not afford £199 and didn't want multiroom and what annoyed me more was that I knew a friend that got a £49 refurb deal and I wanted to cancel as NTL were offering me free Sky Sports for a year.
The guy said if they were to offer me a Sky+ box for £49 would I stay, and I said hell yes. Getting it installed on Friday, YEAH.Jellynose0 -
Jellynose how much are you paying per month? ie did you have to take the SKY+ £10 extra charge for the service?

Quick question. I live in a purpose built block where we have to pay an additional charge of £78 a year towards "maintenance" of a commual aerial. To get Sky+ (to record and watch two channels) I would have to pay another £78 for a second line (Yes, rip-off I know). Any idea whether I could get the Sky+ and just use it as a standard Sky receiver with the ability to record onto its hard disk, i.e. continue using the one line that I have paid for?0

Hi Othermanmi
I was on there Family Pack but I decided to get Sky Sports rather than pay the extra £10 per month. My better half wanted Sky Sports anyway so I didn't mind really.
Cheers
