OK hubby genuinley phoned sky to cancel, we have problems with signal in winter and he has built a media centre ...so he was going to cancel if they would not upgrade the box we have had for 7 years, he spoke to a very nice lady who said dont cancel we will upgrade box...however why not try sky + we can sell a refurbished box for 49.00 pounds and as we had the highest package nothing else to pay.
He accepted and the box came, didnt work,
a week later a new box, worked for two days...stopped,
a week later another box, the engineer didnt have any of the old boxes we would have to accept a NEW all silver box woohoooo or so we thought a full weekend of sky plus,
how did we manage etc...
went to record the grand prix no second signal
argjhjjjjjj
another week to wait for an engineer.................hopefully one day we will not regret this decision and enjoy sky+..oh I do hope so....I wished upon a star tonight that I would see you once more,
To hold you in my arms and tell you how much I love you,
To hear your voice, to kiss your cheek oh for just one more time,
But all I have are memories and a heart full of love and tears.0 -

You can get a refurbished sky+ box for £49.99 including installation. You can either order it with multi-room or with a movie package.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

The key point in this is that you have to tell them that you are very unhappy with the service and that you are thinking of cancelling. Unless you mention the word cancel, they will not offer the deal - that is what Sky told my husband when we got this offer.0

Can I phone up on behalf of my husband for the deal (Sky is in his name)?0

You can try but I have always found that they won't deal with me. Stupid really as we are married.0 -
Okay thanks for the reply Alison. It is daft isn't it especially as the direct debit for Sky is taken from our joint account. I think hubbie is worried that Sky really will go ahead and cancel but I said if it looks that way just pretend someone's at the door and phone again later!0

You can talk on hubbies behalf BUT he has to confirm he is him, my hubby was working away years ago so my dad was him, they ask for his name address and date of birth, then sky asks for a password, then he can hand the phone back to you, or you can phone back the next day, they asked for details then password and I can alter and change accounts at anytime.
As for being scared DONT we genuinly tried to cancel
they dont want to lose you as far as I am aware, if by chance they do cancel your accoun, someone on here stated that you phone the next day and cancel the cancel!!I wished upon a star tonight that I would see you once more,

Spoke to 2 different people at Sky this morning & both are saying that the refurb deal has finished as they had no more boxes. They both had the cheek to offer me a new Sky+ box for "only £199 + £60 installation".
Cheeky robing !!!!!!!
I said how come you can afford to sell it to new customers for £89? "Brand new customers only" was the reply.
I can get Sky+ installed by a local firm for £99.
Just renewed my subscription so I think I will wait for a month then threaten to cancel if they don't give me cheap Sky+.0 -
Well went for the multiroom deal in the end as we live in a area that's has very poor reception and as our house is in a little dip it's even worse. Means we'll get decent reception upstairs as well. No cable and no freeview either round here. If we find we don't use the multi-room function we're going to cancel after a year and go freesat instead. Got installation booked for October so we're hoping for one of new 80gb boxes.0
