    Hi Everyone,

Our house has been on the market for two weeks now. Acording to the EA we've had a couple of people request the details but so far no viewings.

There are a couple of pictures I'm not too happy with, was wondering if someone could give me their opinion, seeing as you lot are the same as any potential buyers - you've never seen the house in real life!

    Here's the rightmove link: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-19781294.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy

    Thanks guys.

For an EA the standard is fairly good.
However they should call back to retake the outside on a sunny day - makes all the difference.
Are the fence and garage door dirty as they look it on the photo.
EA should buy a camera with wider angle lens.
Always take inside shots with all the lights on.
Lounge, dining room, kitchen have dark shadow areas which in simple PC software can be brought out but most EA's wouldn't be bothered or have a clue how to do.
Remember though the web site presence it one to get to the next stage in marketing terms. The next stage is to make it look enticing to get folks to enquire, ask for full details or ask for a viewing.
Best not to show all but only the best bits so fewer shots could be better.

    sorry :D .

    That's ok...sob...

So in summary they're even worse than I thought!!

Must learn to be tougher with EA and say I'm not happy, scared of being a nuisance! :o

I think its a great house in an area I know well. There are 20 three bed houses in MN under £200,000, and although near the top of the price range, it does seem a good house for the money. Although you are worried about the photos, I don't think yours would put off any serious buyers. Unfortunately it's just one of those things. Dig in for the long haul, and most importantly, keep living your life. There is more to life than trying to maintain a showhome.

:j Thank you, that's cheered me up a bit!

Thanks, I was having a brave day when I chose them! I actually had them made, Dunelm Mill in Weston-Super-Mare. Were V expensive and won't be allowed to change them for years and years!

  • Despite them not showing everything, the pictures of the rooms wouldn't put me off at all. If anything I feel the outside of the house might be a bit lacking in kerb appeal, as shown here. The planter is quite small and gets bit lost, whereas the dark green tree is a bit in your face from that angle. Couldn't the photographer afford to come in a bit closer on the exterior? Also he could have put the For Sale sign straight, after all first impressions count :-)

    straight from the HIP

The house looks like a bungalow with a roof conversion. the living room looks big and modern which is a plus. defined dining area - good, kitchen looks slightly dated, though i cant tell as it is a bit obscure.

what is the neighbourhood like, cars parked all over the road? mirrors in bedroom may be slightly 80's and take up a lot of room, i would have taken a diff angle.

kids room - photo of toys really -these should be removed and photo retaken

bathroom looks cold white - needs a bit of warmth - garden looks adequate

The problem is not really your house, I am sure it is a lovely, clean well kept home, but buyers will look through hundreds on rightmove and be wowed with some pics and discount mediocre looking pictures. I know because i searched for houses a month bypassing characterless cluttered homes (though yours isnt cluttered!)

The pics need to potray the best bits of the home, warmth and space, less of the personal effects, and no shots on the street and !!!!!! mirrored rooms.
