Hi,
heh heh :j :j , good'un you for persevering with the Sky Customer Services, sorted at last, just a pity that it couldn't have been sorted out when you phoned them sometime ago.
So, looks like you are going to end up with 3 remotes, unless you bought the new one from Argos, you are allowed 16 days to take it back.
So, turned out a happy birthday after all. :beer:0 -

THANKS! Mum & Dad need a remote so going to sell it to them and I won't be out of pocket. :money:0 -
The new Sky box is installed but he has left the old Sky box behind. He also left all the leads for the new Sky box but used the old ones. I was wondering if we could put old Sky box in a second room and how would we go about it? The only thing we are missing is a dish input cable and do we need a second Sky viewing card?

I try not to!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
The Sky box can not be operated with the remote but I thought if getting up and pushing a button meant I would be able to view Sky in another room well t would be worth it.

Hi,
do you know if it was operational with the buttons beforehand, if so then should be no problem.
Got to go now, funeral, will think about it. :rotfl:0 -

Yes it was operational with the buttons before hand.
I have to go now too, I will be on here this evening, probably about 5pm or 6pm.0 -

You need a quad LNB
OK you could get away with a one with just 2 outputs, but quads are more readily available and therefore cheaper, plus you may later want a Sky+ or SkyHD which uses two inputs or more Sky boxes, so best to get at least a Quad LNB.
Once you get your quad LNB, you need to switch off the Sky box at the 230v mains, climb up to the dish, disconnect the co-ax from the LNB, remove the old LNB should be a screw or something holding on tightly the arm, push on the new LNB and tighten securely, re-attach the co-ax and that is your one box up and running. For the second box, you'll need to buy several metres of satellite grade co-ax, then attach the co-ax to another output on the LNB to the 2nd box. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Thanks for responding. Any ideas where I can get what I need or how much it would cost? Could you give me any links to what it looks like?
