My Sky remote control used to work my tv but about 2 months ago it stopped working for no apparent reason. Since Sunday the Sky remote will not operate the Sky box although the red light on the remote control lights up when a button is pressed but nothing actually happens. Can anyone advise me how to get the Sky remote to work again?

A good bang sometimes help, or new batteries.
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

If you recently changed your batteries it could be that the remote needs reprogramming. You could try the sky website or http://www.satelliteonline.co.uk/sky_remote_codes.htm

Your remote might need reprogramming as above, you can check to see if the remote is `sending` anything by observing the infra red led at the business end of your remote with a digital camera, or your phone camera. When you press a button on the remote you should see a light flickering there on the phone cameras screen.

If you want it to work the Sky box try pressing SKY at the top of the remote then use it as normal.

    That doesn't work either.

Try leaving the batteries out for a while.
