    Hi,

oh well, at least you've managed to decide between the black or the white remote, so at least you are getting there, did you toss a coin? You say it won't be needed until Tuesday, so why not just think about it over the weekend? :rotfl:

No, I actually made that decision all by myself - are you proud of me or what? :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hi,

a couple of thoughts for you before you make a hasty decision,

you could use one of those universal remotes, does tv/vcr/cd/dvd/digital. I've seen them in the £ shops for ............ er £1. :rotfl:

But, back to Argos, (click on title),

One For All Replacement Remote for Digital Satellite and TV.
    • 534/7878 71-5347878SPA69UC456255T.jpg
    • £9.99
    • Product detail
    • Works with up to 2 devices.
    • TV/Text, Satellite, Sky, Freeview.
    • Pre programmed for easy set-up.
    • Requires 2 AA batteries (supplied).
    • Pre programmed for Sky digital box.
So, that's you, nip up the street and get it today, sorted!

Mind you I'd probably hunt for the £ one first. :rotfl:

I cannot believe you went online at 6am about this remote, your as bad as me!!
  • Hi,

I'm an early riser, good strong cup of coffee, for the caffine fix, and log on.

As I said, I would look for the £1 cheapo first, you must have a pound shop round about you somehwere.

The only thing with them is they seem to have a lot of small buttons on them for the multitude of functions available.

Happy hunting, you've got till Tuesday. :rotfl:

You'll never believe it I got my new Sky remote but....
    ....

    ....
it doesn't work Sky but it works the tv. Now I have 2 remotes for the tv and none for Sky. The reason the remote works on the tv is because the person from Sky told me how to program the remote for the tv but he said it would work instantly for Sky but it doesn't.

The seller you found who is selling the remote at £5.50 charges £4.50 for p&p, total £10. Someone is selling them on ebay at £8.99. Argos is selling them at £14.97.

It's Amazon who set the P&P prices for their market place traders.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

All Sky remotes should work instantly for the Sky boxes if you have a Sky remote for a Sky box, Sky+ remote for a Sky+ box or SkyHD remote for the SkyHD box.

You press the Sky logo to switch the remote to Sky mode and the TV button to switch to TV mode. If the remote is the correct remote for the type of box you have and works the TV but doesn't work the Sky box and a 230V mains reset on the Sky box hasn't helped then it could be the remote sensor on the box has failed or part of the box that is connected to the remote commands.

Whether I press the Sky button ot tv button, the tv still works. What is a 230V mains reset?

Strange that the TV still works when Sky button has been pressed - though in Sky box mode the TV volume should work, in Sky box mode the numbers and channel up / down and other buttons should work the Sky box, when in TV mode it should work the TV.

230V mains reset is simply switching the Sky box off at the plug socket, waiting 30 seconds and switching it back on.

I thought that was what was meant by "230V mains reset", will get hubby to try that.
