Hi Eden123, did you find out about coupon policy in ASDA Andover?

Will be going there to get the free £20 gift card when you spend £30 a week from 9/5-4/7 or collect 6 tokens. Would be great if the minimum spend counts b4 the MOCs come off. Either way it's a good deal, about 11% off £180 worth of shopping.

How did you manage to find out that it is 50% for Tesco's policy? I've been using coupons in Tesco no problem, but have never tried to push it to 50%

I would like to inform you that I have used coupons to payn almost 100% of yesterdays £20 shop I was left to pay 2p. They were all internet coupons and I have also used them to buy petrol in a tescos petrol station. Its amazing what a copy of the coupon policy will actually do for you#!:rotfl:

Please can I also direct you to the following thread which will be of use to you all

the most up to date coupons and also store coupon policies.
The truth is there IS NOT LIMIT to the ammount of coupons you use as long as they are all in date and different. thats true in tesco and asda. I have dedicated the last week to circulating Nottingham Tescos and Asdas with emails and education all the staff I happen to come across. Ive found that speaking to the operations manager before my shop and showing them my email prevents embarrasment at the till as I just tell them to cal their ops manager who ive obviously just spoken to.
I understand that many stores refuse coupons because they cannot tell if they are genuine or not. If they are not genuine then the store incurs a fee for these "fake Coupons" If the coupons are genuine then the stores stand to be better of than if we pay with cash, as the manufacturers not only pay the value of the coupon but a handling charge too. In otherwords they get more money out of genuine coupons than cash.

My only gripe is people who use fake coupons or try to dodge putting them in the slot (which is why places are no taping them up)
Keep them genuine / in date / and correct to the actual store. Then the stores might relax a little. then everyones happy :)

    In answer to the question

I personally take 3 coupons from the customers

Our store allows 10% discount with coupons

What is the point in taking a coupon for an item we sell if you dont buy it !! Seems pointless to me...

Forget to mention on my earlier post - Coupons taken out of the ASDA Magazine can be used IF you buy the item on the coupon...

I dont think its pointless!!! It is after all a way of saving money. Personally speaking I have ridiculous student loans to pay off on a limited income using coupons helpe me to afford to eat.

Also in the grand scheme of things. due to the fact that supermarket chains get paid a handling fee on top of the price of the coupon when they redeem it from the manufacturer, the supermarket and the chain in general makes a bigger profit from coupons than normal cash.

    Think ouside the box :)

I work for Asda and I take coupons even if they are not buying the product, usually upto about 10% of their shopping spend. However, if they take the ... and give me loads like £5 of vouchers n theres spending 7 or 8 pound I will refuse to take any of them unless they buy the product.

I understand your personal frustration at scanning alot of coupons I guess I would feel the same if I worked at a store.

Do you know the asda coupon policy to the letter? ( I am not in anyway meaning to be rude) I understand that a customer who was savvy with the policy could cause you embarrasment and frustration if they held their ground on this matter. do you not think it better to accept the coupons?

some asdas don't take coupons at all unless buying the product. Asked in my local yesterday and still no. The other one nearby used to take them when it opened and then stopped, so I reverted to Tesco. Frustrating though.

hi i have worked for asda for the last 7 yrs ( nearly 8 ) and i work on customer services the email sent from asda house is correct and their is no point in arguing about it as it will only result in a complaint
    i have always been told
10% off total bill if not asda cupons
if it is an asda cupon you have to buy the product it has on it

sorry, but do you mean if I was to have a copy of the email and went to either of my "no coupon at all" accepting stores, they would then have to take 10% worth of coupons? Seems unlikely to me, is this what you meant about not arguing?

hi if asda house say that it is company policy then the store cant argue with that ( in the past if we say one thing asda house say something else asda house wins ) if they refuse to take them show them your email if still no joy get them to phone asda house with you there
