  • I am still waiting for my cashback 7 days on. How long does it take ?
  • Some cashbacks are extremely quick - others are extremely slow. Other still - never appear at all. This is when the problems begin.

GP say you must leave it 30 days from the date you bought the item.

BEFORE YOU BUY SOMETHING, MAKE SURE THE GP CASHBACK TRACKER IS WORKING ON YOUR COMPUTER. (You can test it on the GP site).
KEEP A DIARY OF WHAT YOU BOUGHT, WHEN, WHAT TIME, THE DATE AND THE ORDER NUMBER.

If you have not been credited with your cashback after 30 days you have to 'raise a ticket' with GP via the dedicated area on the site.

They reply usually within 48 hours either by

    a) giving you the cashback

    or more usually,

    b) saying they have no tracking of it and then they close the 'ticket. That's it - no discussion, nothing.

This has happened to me with the Lloyds car insurance. It has also now happened to me with Budget house insurance (but I cannot raise the Budget one for another week.)

If you try and take it up with the retailer you are wasting your time. (Lloyds insurance had never heard of Greasy Palm when I tried to ask them to provide me with proof of how I bought my insurance). It is GP who promise the cashback and according to Trading Standards they must honour it.

With GP you have to get to £25 in your cashback account before you get your cashback sent to you.

The latest payment run was supposed to be on Oct 3rd - but I have not yet been paid and I'm still waiting for over £70

Once I have my cashback from them I closing my account.

got to say my experiences with them, have been somewhat different ,
Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.
  • I also purchased my car insurance thru GreasyPalm a month ago, no £60 received, logged a ticket only to hear :

"We have investigated your claim for missing cashback. I'm sorry to report that we have been unable to track this particular item and the retailer concerned has not logged the sale as coming from GreasyPalm.

I have just phoned LLoyds TSB and they definately said that I DID buy this insurance through GreasyPalm!!

I logged another ticket with GreasyPalm giving them the person's name and phone number at LloydsTSB...GreasyPalm closed the new ticket with:

Sorry but if a transaction is not on the database this means that it has not been tracked and we have not received any commission therefore we are unable to offer cashback as per our terms and conditions.

To sum it up, I know mistakes happen but GreasyPalm just do not seem interested in putting things right...I would steer well clear of them...
  • This is a definite Trading Standards Issue I guess - you have evidence ! It's obvious to you that the traking facility between GreasyPalm and the shops has broken down with this one. With my wait, because there is a cooling off period of 14 days on the insurance, they're hardly going to pay up the £70 to me before this are they ? Have checked my click history which links to their database, hopefully, and to see if the 'cashback ok screen comes up.

I'm still waiting too. If it gets to 30 days I will contact Greasy Palm. If they don't pay up - and as a last resort - I will cancel the policy and make it very clear to Lloyds why.

    Fingers crossed that it appears!
  • Having read the original post on this thread, and the positive posts up to 1 September, I registered with Greasy Palm and on 9 September (click history confirms) I purchased Lloyds TSB Car Insurance, with the promise of £70 cashback. The thread then goes dead on this subject until 29 September. Then a mixture of positive and negative posts. I submitted a ticket early hours of Sunday night/Monday morning and received the reply from them 11 am Monday morning (pretty fast response for any true investigation to have taken place I thought). This response appears to be about the same as others on this thread have received.......

"I'm sorry to report that we have been unable to track this particular item and the retailer concerned has not logged the sale as coming from GreasyPalm. As a result we as a company have not been paid the sales commission for this transaction and as such there is no cashback to share. Sorry! We understand that this might be disappointing but I'm afraid there is nothing further we can do to try and recover this claim."

I telephoned Lloyds TSB who tell me they have heard of this company, but they do not[/I] deal with this company and do not pay any commission - it is inaccurate information. When suggesting that this should be passed to Trading Standards, the young lady agreed.

So just WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? As far as I am concerned, I did everything correctly. How come some of us on this thread are receiving their payment with no problem and others are getting the bog standard reply from GP. How does one take the matter further with GP - do they have an email form pop up anywhere? I realise that probably my only option now is Trading Standards, but knowing my luck (or great lack of luck!) I will probably get nowhere. Thank goodness I didn't go ahead with the Home Insurance £30 offer as well. I'll try battling this one out with them, but any help would be appreciated regarding tactics.

I certainly will not be dealing with this so called 'company' after this.

I have sent a PM to Martin to see if there is anything he can do
  • Hi,

I run some sites and use affiliate links to help pay for costs on the site. Therefore I know how tracking works.

Normally sales do not track because you have:-

Norton Security on your computer which block cookies.

You didnot click the GP link last.

You have spyware on your computer which redirect away the link away from GP.

Sometimes tracking systems fail. I buy stuff via my own sites, and know from experience that links do not track. I do everything I can before I buy to ensure I recieve my cashback and it still fails....

In regards to now long it takes to investigate... Its as simple as logging into a website to see your sales total. If you try to complain afterwards the merchants will not normally help with any problems of this nature as it takes to long.

    Best Regards

    Barry
