I can understand your frustration IA and I agree with Gemmzie, maybe putting off the CAB until Sept so that you can already be in regular hours of work, good client base to be able to claim CTC. Its all about timing and sometimes we as parents have to put ourselves last...um actually when don't I come last now I think about it!
I know how you feel about everybodies situation! I look at all my friends around me, see what they have, see them enjoying their jobs but who knows whats happening underneath! I would love to go and do teacher training but at the moment its more important for DH to get a better job, earn more money and for us to concentrate on paying off all the debt we have already accumulated. Also you only get these precious years once with your Lo's try and enjoy it...although sometimes you could probably throttle them when they are being monkeys!
Chin up girl, lets get back to the positive IA!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Hi IA
I know its hard with children SO hard.
This is what I did for the four years until my daughter went to school, I re trained and went to college in the evening when my OH was home from work, I volunteered a couple of hours one evening a week to help with the experience side of my CV. I qualified the year my daughter went to school so it all tied in nicely, I now work part time and I use the after school club 2 evenings a week.
There were things I wanted to do in the 4 years that I could not do due to childcare etc but I 'switched off' from them as I did not need the hassle of sorting/organising stressing about it. So while I did not want to sit around and 'nothing' with the 4 years (like being a SAHM is doing nothing  ) I made a decision to only do things that did not stress me out and kept things 'easy' IYSWIM with my child.
I think you will feel better when you reconsider and maybe defer the CAB and use your at home time to do something else, maybe night school, OU etc that fits in. Thats just my opinion of course and you may still find a way around it and do the CAB now but if you don't there are still other options that would make your life easier.
Good luck with what ever you decide.0 -
if anyone should understand the pressure you are under and allow you to defer, it should be the CAB.... they by their very nature should be understanding.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0

But I've been looking forward to doing the CAB for ages. I'm supposed to be doing a training day on friday!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

IA I have the same problem with childcare, I am having to apply for a job I really don't want, school catering, just to be able to work at all, as it fits in with school hours & my Husband is at sea.
I have no help with childcare familywise at all ( I lie my SIL looked after them Sat for me to do a survey ) the last time they were looked after was October for another Survey, otherwise I have them, when they are not at school & to be honest with no help & with the money worries, most of the time I am exhausted, as they are still quite little 4 & 6 & are hard work.
I'm feeling an emense pressure to go out & work, but I don't think people really understand how tired I am & how probably I will lose so much in WFTC I will be working for nothing almost, which I know the CAB is, but like you I really wouldn't mind so much if it was something I wanted to do!
Hope you manage to sort it out, we are all entitled to a moan sometimes & as it's something you've really set your heart on doing it must be frustrating.Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

You are obviously very frustrated with all this and I can understand how much you are looking forward to the CAB as you have set your heart on it.
I guess what you have to do is weigh up if the stress of getting to them training days is actually going to be worth it and if you would enjoy it much more in the future when childcare is easier and more settled.
If you don't do it now it doesn't mean your dream is over and you can use this time now to do something else that would make you even more invaluable to the CAB when the time is right.
You are obviously a proactive person who is feeling very trapped and frustrated so if you do decide to defer I am sure you will find something else to preoccupy your time in a less stressful way.
Again good luck0 -

Right young lady!!
will you listen to yourself?
you are young....you have your whole life in front of you to do these things.
I know what you mean when you say it isnt fair....but life is like that;)
Are you really that willing to get so stressed that it starts to affect you?
You dont have to do everything at once.
So ....sit back....relax and breathe:cool:
It always works out in the end
