WHY can't anything ever go RIGHT???

Have seriously had enough now. My girls are supposed to be starting nursery on the 7th April so I can begin training with the CAB. This date has changed 3 times now because my eldest will be getting government funded sessions.
This morning I get another letter from the nursery saying that the funding NOW doesn't start until the 21st April... and I forgot that it's only for term times so will stop again on the 21st July :wall::wall:
Nothing seems to be going right for me recently and I'm sick of it. As soon as something good happens something bad happens to ruin it. Just had enough now.

Ah IA these things are defo sent to try us! Can you find a way to pay for the two weeks of childcare from elsewhere in your budget? Ie hold off on overpaying a credit card or loan for a month? What about your families. Whilst they may not want to do it full time, could they look after the children for this two week period? Or could they do some of it, and Steve take some days off for the rest of it?
I am sure that if I give you a kick up the a*s you will think of something, so consider you a*s paddled!:D
keep going you know you will get there in the end

Aw hon - you know I went through the same hassles re working and childcare. It was an absolute nightmare paying different each month and never quite sure where you are. As far as am aware - tax credits should work out entitlement over the whole year (including higher price for holidays) and then average it so you'll be getting extra towards the holidays but you'll get it each month - if that makes sense?
I think its great that you're 'doing' and preparing for your future. but for me in the end, the whole childcare issue was too much of a hassle and I took my boys out of nursery and went back to being a SAHM. From reading your diary I think that, like me, you dont have family/friends to pick up the slack when needed and it makes things much more difficult unfortunately.
Also, like me, you're only young - my thinking is that i've got all the time in the world to be working once they're at school and things are easier to work.
Get a big sheet of paper and try to work out what you need to pay and when - it always helps me to get situations straight in my mind so that I can start thinking of a solution - rather then having it all swimming around in my head seeming impossible to work out.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Good suggestion from Chev about Ste - my OH has had to use pretty much all of his holiday to fit around my work 'things' the past two years. It wasn't happy about it but I say childcare is his responsibility too.
Also - could you not wait until Sept to do the training- that way the big holiday is out of the way and you have some time to hopefully settle into your position before the Easter holsMANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

HI there- I have young children too and it can be so hard trying to get that balance. I volunteer for a charity and they pay for childcare cost have you asked if CAB will be able to help you with costs? I hope it gets sorted for you.Don't get strung out by the way I look,

The CAB can't help with childcare costs as they're too small a branch.
To be fair right now I'm just considering sacking everything off... nothings ever simple and I'm sick of it.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Oh IA!!! I feel so bad for you but this kind of attitude is not your style.
c'mon girl. Take the knocks on the chin and dust yourself off and move forward.
If it all seems to much, AS,OU,CAB, Argooose then knock something on the head for now and don't be so hard on yourself.... i feel you are trying to do too much.
However if you sack them all, then where will you be?! Nowhere, and that isn't what you want/deserve outta life.
chin up darlin!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Dont do anything right now - take the rest of the day to think things through - look at alternatives etc. If this is something you really want then you will work away around it.

Have you asked them? I assumed I wouldnt get help when I started where I volunteer(which is also a small local charity) it wasn't untill my OH changed jobs and I thought I had to leave that they told me they would cover reasonable cost- even if they wont cover all the cost there may be a way around it -
I know how upset I was at the idea of not being able to carry on as I see my "job" as important for my future career- I hope you find a solutionI totaly get the "nothings ever simple" but I feel this is important to you so worth trying all avenues before you "sack it off" - Is there an alternative nursery or childcare provider?
