Well done everyone and Stuartm1 that's an amazing change you have made! You should be very proud, as if everyone kept to their targets MSE would have even more people debt-free. I must admit to being a savings addict too...!
We're getting there! I have noticed lots of properties starting to be discounted by around £10k for a quick sale - let's hope in September the properties we really want start to discount as well... they're starting to fight it out and i want to be ringside and stretch our pounds as far as we can for the best value, so holding on at the edge of our seats!MFW #185

Me and my OH have just opened our first joint bank account to save as much as we possibly can until we move in somewhere. Thankfully her parents will be helping us out too with a possible £10k. The aim is to save £5k minimum by January ourselves, and push on from there.0

Hope you make it! Will you be having next to no life until the end of the year though?

So-so, I'd say. I'm plugging away and managing to put a bit away every month but it's mostly £200 or less at the moment so it's all a bit slow!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Wow, everyone seems to be doing very well indeed!
It looks like it's going to be a slow process for me - I'm currently saving £200 a month but worked out yesterday thet I need to be saving £150 more if I plan to hit my target - eeek! Over to the '£10 a day' thread and the old style board for me, I think!:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

No, luckily. I'm managing to save around £1,000 a month fairly comfortably at the mo. So I should make it to £30k. Then it'll be on to the next target, which I guess will be £40k by the end of 2010... :eek:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Alizarin and dippykitty i'm the same too, only been saving £200 a month normally and seems like i'll never get there. As i work freelance i never know how much i'll earn so it seems really hard to save.
Recently got a new freelance job, just next week at the moment but could be on and off work until christmas which i really hope it is as i should be able to double my monthly savings.
We will all get there, it's good seeing how far everyone else gets does make me want to save more and more. The way i try and look at it is even saving a little bit a month is much better than nothing and will mean i'll get there eventually, it all adds up.Save £12K in 2019 #: £0.00 / £10,000 (0%)
