Finally had the last bit of a long standing debt paid back to me!
Managed to add another £100 to my pot because of that, although it's a small amount every little helps.

I haven't updated for a while, and that's because, well, I'm lost. I don't actually know how much we've saved at this point, and I can't get Barclays to log on to check the ISA or those regular savers. Hopefully will manage to get an updated total by the end of the month.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thought I'd better join this thread as it's so helpful to see everyone saving together!
We're up to the £5500 mark and hoping to save around £600 a month. It's hard work and sometimes we feel a little down at the amount we still have to save before we can even think about looking at houses.
Plus we've just seen the lovely house down the road has finally sold. It needed lots of work doing, had been on the market for ages and we were hoping it would still be around when we'd saved our deposit. Oh well, I know the right house will come along for us at the right time!Trying hard to avoid supermarkets this year....:)0 -
I visited my Nan this past weekend down south & even though I'm 24 and work she still insists on slipping me £££ when I leave so another £20 in the kitty for me!! lol0

I added another £56.50 from my babysitting this week, had to wait for a cheque to clear before transfering the money though. :j
The little girl I looked after after work is off to school so I will not be looking after her as often. However I am taking another little girl from work to Nursery 4 mornings a week from September, One of the little boys mum's has asked me to look after him for a couple of hours once every 2 weeks. And two other families have asked if I would look after their kids one once a month for 4/5 hours and the other when mum needs to study. So I think I will be kept fairly busy! All that plus I am still doing babysitting for an agency!!:eek:Finally had the last bit of a long standing debt paid back to me!

You and I have exactly the same savings targets and similar amounts saved so far. I am near enough 4% ahead of you but would be good to see how you get on and when you hit your target.
Good Luck

Don't know whether coming and reading everyones threads makes me feel more positive or throughly depressed!
All I am thinking about is saving for a deposit and it is driving me mad, I done our sums the other day and previous to that I thought we would be good for a 20% deposit by next June but have now discovered that it won't be till June 2011-back to reality with a bump!
Has anyone heard anything about places now wanting a 26% deposit? The girl next to me reckons that that is what everyone will be wanting soon but I haven't seen anything about it anywhere and think that its a bit unrealistic?!
Sorry for the whinge!0 -
We've been advised we'll need a 25% deposit to get a bearable rate, which is quite tough I know. Apparently you can pretty much double the interest rate if you have a 10% deposit compared to a 25% one. Have finally managed to update my sig, but we are looking at a development oppertunity at the moment, which would take all our pennies, but hopefully give us a decent lump sum when it sold.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
