Hi everyone,
Alizarin and dippykitty i'm the same too, only been saving £200 a month normally and seems like i'll never get there. As i work freelance i never know how much i'll earn so it seems really hard to save.
Recently got a new freelance job, just next week at the moment but could be on and off work until christmas which i really hope it is as i should be able to double my monthly savings.
We will all get there, it's good seeing how far everyone else gets does make me want to save more and more. The way i try and look at it is even saving a little bit a month is much better than nothing and will mean i'll get there eventually, it all adds up.
I'm the same as I'm freelance too. It's really frustrating to not know that there will be a set amount going in each month, isn't it? Like you say though, it's better than nothing! Congrats on the new freelance job - that'll help a lot by the sounds of it!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Another £32.50 safely in my A&L savings account taking my total to £3005.35!! :j:j
I should be able to add a few more £'s in the next few days as well, as I am babysitting every night from tomorrow until Wednesday then next Saturday as well. Would be good to get to the £3.5K by next week which is possible as it is payday next Friday and my £400 will go into my monthly saver then :T
Hope everyone else is getting on OK

Hey Carrie
You are doing great. I felt as though I stalled with the savings a few months ago as I wasn't really getting any babysitting, but its picked up again thankfully and is keeping me busy.
I look for your posts as we have the same savings target and I'm glad that my savings totals are an insentive for you to keep going with your savings
Take care

Well bit of news here. At the weekend my lovely boyfriend got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We are hoping to get married next summer, as by that point we'll have lived with my parents two years, and thats long enough really. However given my original target was over two years, and we now have about a year, we are going to reduce our ambitions somewhat, and aim for £30,000. So the big jump in my signiture is not a huge increase, but a lowered target. This would still be a 20% deposit on a £150,000 house, which should be plenty. Very big target to hit within a year though unless we get some nice engagement cheques - don't think people still do those anymore unfortunately!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thank you, huge incentive, we're also both looking into doing some lecturing on an evening to bring in an extra £220 each after tax per month. Have added £500 to the savings pot today, and another £500 will be going into it on the 1st. We need to pay for the wedding too, and earn £41.5k between us before tax, so will be a tight belt year.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
