Hows everyone doing? Saving is VERY slow at this end :( seems like we'll never get to our target!

Not that great at the moment, had a staycation, plus birthdays and events, hoping September will be more on target...

Same here so I can sympathise. I'm not doing very well on the savings front - haven't been for a few months really, which is really frustrating!

Same here - like when I check to see the ISA interest and it's a whole £0.62p for MrEL's account, for over £4,000! Wish that would magically change...

Bit late to this party, we've just managed to save the 35K needed for our 25% deposit, just had an offer accepted and are well on the way to getting it done, must admit it will be a bit weird from having a lot of savings to nothing (well, comparatively) :(

Plus we had a baby 5 weeks ago, scary times!!

I know that feeling, although my interest isn't that poor!. My ISA had just under £3k in at the end of last month (when the interest is added) and I got something like £3 in interest (used to more like £20 for the same amount!).

Wanna say that this is a great thread:beer:

Well I'm 35, single and have been saving for 5yrs now. I currently earn £25k pa and my rent is £7.5k pa. I can't buy yet but will carry on saving and will re-evaluate my situation in 2 or 3yrs time.

In 2004 overall I was £1600 in debt
    +Savings £1100
    -Debts £1500 bank loan
    -Credit card £1200

    5yrs on
    +Savings £25000
No loans, debts or credit cards

Last September I bought a car for £8000:eek: and I promised myself that when September came round this year I better have replaced this sum to my savings and I have (just). I save on average £600 per month - I used to set targets in my head like my savings had better reach £30k by next March and I'd stick to it and I always exceeded what I intended (usually only by a few hundred though).

I don't think I'll ever be able to not save as I'm addicted:D

Everyone can do it so get saving.
