:hello: Hi there Debbie first of all i would like to say welcome to MSE.
In answer to your question all i can say is you can certainly apply for Disability Living allownce. There are 2 parts to it the care side and the mobility side. It would certainly be worth getting help to fill the form out. The CAB are very good at helping with this.
After reading you post it could have been written by myself. I totally understand what you are going through.
I don't know of any other benefits you can apply for but if you get D.L.A high rate mobility you can get a car tax exemption certificate. Also if you get awarded any rate mobilty then you can get a blue badge which will allow you to park in disabled bays. If you are awarded middle or high rate care then this leads on to other benefits.
If i can help you in any way please let me know. I don't mind you sending me a PM.
Hope i have been of some help.
Good luck with your claim and let us know how you get on.
All the best.

Hi Debbie
Do apply for DLA(only number i have at present is 08457123456) but do get help filling it out from a citizens advice centre or alike as they can be quite challenging, based on what you say are your care needs, if successful and you are awarded middle rate care as you live alone you will get an SD Premium(care for yourself as you are single) which will add an extra £50(from April) or so to your Income Support on top of any DLA you receive. With the right support you should be entitled to at least low rate mobility and middle rate care which at present would give you an extra £63.25 pw as well as the severe disability premium i mentioned earlier. AllenForums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -
:T hi would like to say a big thankyou to everyone for your kind comments and help it is much apprieated many thanks debbie0

Hi Debbie, welcome to the forum.
You didn't say if you are claiming Income Support. You are on Incapacity Benefit, and clearly unable to work, then you are entitled to claim.
Take a look on here...

If you do get awarded D L A, Your Income Support will go up too.
Hope this helps x................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -

Hi Debbie, I have Fibromyalgia and I get DLA. However, I also have some other conditions that count too! It sounds like that might be the case for you. It would be a really good idea to arrange an appointment with someone from the Citizen's Advice Bureau as thy know what things needed to be included in order to tick their (DLA) boxes.
I get high rate mobility because of not being able to walk due to severe pain, a lot of which is attributable to the Fibromyalgia.
As you can't get out much I wondered if you knew of a website called Daily Strength, there are forums on there for people with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain, to name just two! It might not be your kind of thing, but it's worth a try. My name on there is serenity94, you'll probably recognise the avatar!0 -
