I use this Free site to keep an eye on the exchange rates
www.poundtoeuro.com
I would also hang on a bit as the rate should get alot better

Can anyone confirm 100% that buying foreign currency in store at Tesco with a Tesco credit card doesn't incur ANY charges on the card?
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/finance/travelmoney/travel-bureaux.html
The smallprint says: ² This offer is not available to Tesco Business Credit Card customers. Credit card handling fees of 1.5% will apply (min £4, max £15) but it isn't clear whether the handling fee applies to Business credit cards or ALL Tesco credit cards!!
I know I will get a worse exchange rate doing this than using a Nationwide debit card in the cashpoint abroad, but the plan is to get some Euros on a CREDIT rather than DEBIT card (as cheaply as possible). This potentially looks like a good way of doing it, especially as the Tesco credit card is interest free for 6 months on purchases at the moment!0 -

Nope but a degree in business and finance 25 years trading currencies, 15 of those for a major investment bank . Retired at 45.
In all seriousness the Euro has reached its peak technical anaylis supports this, economic news is not that bad (Ignore the press they like bad news so they glam it all up). BUT I have been wrong in the past:eek: but I get out quick using tight targets and stop losses.
If you are travelling around europe I would personally buy my euros at the last minute but hey as you said no crystal ball.
Something I'm new to but trying so heres a link to my website, its new Its self designed and I'm still learning HTML and web design. http://poundtoeuro.com

i bow to you sir
but you say retired??
well i'm still in the markets, have been for 15 years now, and believe me, in all your years you would never have seen anything like this !!!
its crazy!
i see we are now back down to 1.0675 now for gbp/eur
my opinion, for what its worth, and put into layman's term is:
the whole worldwide economy is knackered
at mom the Pound is getting picked on, and getting hammered
but people are forgetting that Euroland and the US economies have many many problems of their own, and what goes around comes around....
we will bounce back, we will get more EUR and USD to our Pound quite soon, but i'm just not sure how much lower its all going to go before we see a decent turnaround, and not just a little bounce....
respect 2 u sirPlease take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
