I've moved this to the Travel Board
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -

Whilst I was mainly referring to drawing cash by debit card and buying by credit card, in fact using any credit card (usually 2.5% cash withdrawal plus 2.75% foreign exchange loading) would be slightly cheaper than changing money at the Post Office (7%). The Nationwide credit card would just be 2.5% cash withdrawal, so much cheaper. Nationwide debit card nil, obviously, so far cheaper.0 -
Hi
At the moment the £ is weak against the euro. In July we are going to Spain, do you think it would be wise to buy my Euros now (£500) or wait and see how the exchange rate goes. Last year I got the best rate using my nationwide debit card however, I’m wondering how much could the rate change between now and July. Should I buy now, wait and see, or put it in my nationwide flexi account & use my card ?

You'll get the best rate on 17 April 2012. On that day at 2.31pm, one pound will get you 1.6389 euros. After that day I'm afraid, it's all downhilll for the £ again.0

Thank you travellingbum. I've been sitting on my hands for half an hour :rotfl:
To the OP:
With regards to your first question, if someone can give you a definitive answer to that then they are probably making it up as they go along (with the exception of travellingbum of course)
With regards to your second question, at the time you posted your query there were two other threads on the front page that would have given you the answers you required, then again there is always plenty of information available in the Travel Resources bar.0
