Hi everyone. No flying for me today as BF and I are doing DIY. We are getting a woodburning stove next weekend so are knocking out the bricked up fireplace where it is going. I will get this house done even if it takes me forever!!! Will have to tidy up all the mess later though and make dinner so a wee bit of work to do. Hope you are all having a good day

Skintscot - yes it was Tesco - it was reduced from £1.29 to £1.00 (for the smaller bar) for about three weeks. I bought loads- and have frozen them. It's back up to the normal £1.29 this week though, so you may have missed out. And I'm doon sooth on the coast so maybe it was just a regional reduction?

Probably a regional reduction. I think the Tesco value one is 85p? I'm sure it was 55p in Morrisons a couple of months ago. Will go check my receipts I think. I'm that sad :rotfl:

Wouldnt be anything to do with Easter Lil_me? If Friday is a public holiday, then maybe the uplift days have all been brought back by one? As you say, how difficult would it be to post it on the website???

That's what I was thinking, the neighbour on one side said they have done Saturday collections in the past when we were discussing (having a rant about to be honest) the local collection 'service' and how awkward they are. His bin lid was up half an inch once and they didn't empty it. Anyway those who'd put them out seem to have taken them back in, I haven't seen/heard a wagon so fingers crossed we haven't missed them.

Well I did over 1 hour of socks and undies sorting (which I suppose serves me right for ignoring it :o ) all laundry dry from through the week (:oagain my fault) is now away, DP decided he's not eating with us so left over moroccan beef for my tea instead and will fry off the chicken then refreeze it so one meal saved for later in the week, wish he'd let me know his plans in advance  suppose will have to make him sandwiches for work in a mo.

Kitchen cupboards sorted, I have 2 bags of sultanas, 1 pot glace cherries, 1 pot mixed peel, 1 mixed fruit and 1 of currants so will have to use some of that in the baking :o didn't realise how much was there. Oh and noodles, 3 packets, loads of yeast and I bought more yesterday there is just soooo much stuff in there that I didn't know about/had forgot about. I had to throw out some stuff well past it's use by which annoyed me with myself and will be a big kick in the bum to rotate things better.

Anyway, best go do his sandwiches then mine and the kids dinners, do some airer/washer swapping etc. Will no doubt be back later, hope you are all having a good day.
One day I might be more organised...........

Skintscot - I don't know the price of any other butter. I was clearly brought up very badly. Mum always used to get Lurpak and if she tried to change it us kids knew straight away and complained.

To me, there is no other butter than Lurpak - it's about the only thing, however skint I've been over the years, I will NOT compromise on.

LOL - funnily enough thats what my mum used to always buy. I'm a peasant and cant tell the difference :rotfl: Thats what money saving is all about, isnt it? Making a switch where its not a problem. I always buy Heinz tom ketchup and HP sauce and decent coffee but not fussed about the brand.

My favourite coffee is Asda Gold Roast. To me, nescafe is tripe and kenco is tar. But it must be Daddies sauce brown and red but asda's own custard.

There are some things I buy that doesn't bother me what brand, but others it has to be a certain one, whether a known brand or a supermarkets own.
