astonsmummy, many places like B&Q do cheap enough fire alarms, some areas the fire service offer a home safety check and in some areas it includes either fire alarm fitting advice or some fit fire alarms. Well worth checking your local fire service website, the fire safety check is an eye opener!
Welcome all the newbies
Sharon you lucky devil! Think I'd do it on bedroom day or when the bathroom days comes round.
Zed well done
g&b Giant Schnauzer won it, Samoyed secondpleased as I am a 'big dog' person. I love Samoyed's and that one was lovely, such a show off :rotfl:

Washing machines starting to niff a bit so will get a hot wash going in there once this loads done. Rain and wind here but like boddy said nothing yet compared to what I have seen on the reports for the southern coastal areas, but suppose it's blowing north........hope everyones ok and not been effected too badly.. first things first COFFEE!!! Then online banking, bill paying, email check then assignment...One day I might be more organised...........

nicki, never fear, many have returned to work after much longer not working. Mum's CVs I have done a few and came across some websites when working on them, never underestimate a Mum's role and how it can help in the workplace!! Some of these from my faves might help you see it in a different way and maybe give a few tips on writing one
http://www.fulltimemothers.org/newsletters/0502/cv.htm
http://www.jigsawforwomen.co.uk/cms/node/46
http://www.babyworld.co.uk/information/working/backtowork/work_with_confidence.asp
http://www.workingmums.co.uk/mums/information-for-mums/27832/your-cv-brushing-off-the-cobwebs.thtml
Then of course if you type cv template or example into google you get websites like http://www.cvtips.com/CV_example.html which you can then use to help with the lay out.
One day I might be more organised...........

Morning all - I'm in too this week.
I will be good!!
Got a bit more done yesterday, but not much, I think my body went on shutdown!!
Zed - well done on your run - good job it's not today!
Michelle - I always wanted to be a teacher, but glad I'm not, not with all the work you have to do, my brother is a maths teacher and he never stops either! Hope little one is feeling better today.
Newbies - Think I can say that now, been here 3 or 4 weeks! Take it easy as others have said, don't do too much to start with otherwise you may well do what I did the 2nd week - not alot!!!! lol
JillJim - Going to post office today on way to pick up darling girls! Hope it is all ok for you.
Pigpen - Hope you had a good time at crufts, I watched some yesterday and was sure I saw someone in the audience with a sign that said 'GO FLY' was that you? lol
Kaz - Hugs for today, hope everything goes ok (if you know what I mean) x
AandWsmum -Hope today wasn't too bad at school. x
The weather here is getting pretty bad. Nearly lost dd1 on the way to school, poor kid, I think she nearly pooped herself!!!
At work today, boss on another holiday! Got to go out in a while, blood test, don't want to go cause of the weather but better make the effort. Also, should be swimming tonight, but if it stays like this will tell dd1 pool shut!!! bad mother!
I will Fly like you have never seen before this week. My list for tonight after normal stuff
tidy bedroom
put kids stuff back in their room
hoover bedroom
strip bed tom morning
tidy lounge
sweep and mop floors kitchen/lounge
sort papers, again!
Got a lot done yesterday but did feel guilty re kids. They were very good playing in their room, but I should be playing with them (so should dh but thats another thing!) There just aren't enough hours during the week to get everything done so I don't have to do anything at the weekend.
Anyway, babbled enough, have a good day everyone and anyone else feeling poorly or depressed, ((((((hugs)))))) to you too.Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
Recovery company won't now take me to garage, garage don't have their own tow truck so am going to have to fork out £50
to get *2* flippin' miles from home to garage to get repair done - I'm going to try and get the garage to reimburse the tow money as it's their rubbish part that has made the tow necessary
.............oh pigpen - can I borrow your bolshie head please so I don't feel so bad yellling at them! Didn't get to sleep until 0530 anyway cause my body is still on night mode so I'm a right cranky mare (if any of you say what's the diff I'll)
I'm gonna shove some brekkiedown my throat then off to garage - deliberately won't sling any make up on as that will add to the scary effect
Squeeze ya laters xI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Morning all
Two loads of washing done, hung round indoors - it's very windy here but keeps raining on and off. Very rough overnight.
Kitchen done properly - all cupboard doors stardropped, sink and draining board and drainer scrubbed and buffed. Sink soaked in bleach too and then buffed up. Small appliances moved, cleaned and cleaned under. Tablecloth (plastic) wiped. Windowsills wiped. Vacuumed floor.
Living room and computer desk damp-wiped. Vacuumed living room and hallway.
All indoor bins emptied ready for black bin day tomorrow. Garden pooper-scooped.
Went through pile of scrap paper by phone and chucked away used pieces.
Apart from cooking dinner etc I think that's it for today.
Not a very good night what with the wind and rain and DH with his cough.....0 -
Oh, I forgot. Those who were talking of non ironing - count me in!
I haven't got a washing line, long story and my heaters are storage ones so you can't put things on them and if I use a clothes horse my cats somehow, get on the clothes and then they need washing again. So it's TD for me all the time. As soon as TD finished I take everything out, most doesn't need ironing and those that do don't need alot. DH said I was lazy, obviously what with working nearly full time, looking after 3 kids(him included), cleaning the house, decluttering, shoping etc etc I really should be looking for other things to do!!!!!Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
LG do you not know anyone who can tow it round there for you? How frustrating, £50 is crackers!!! Wish I lived closer I'd be able to help more..
taffy it's not lazy it is common sense, however I do use airers, I tend to keep the door closed in the room they are drying in so dog hair doesn't get on them/kids don't get them, if your partner wants to do it for you let him get on with it
8 watchers on one of DPs toys I listed last night, what's the bets half of them are just being nosey? One day I might be more organised...........
