Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Just got home - was driving back from my mums when my clutch cable snapped - thank god I've good roadside recovery! So tomorrow's plans are all to !!!! now. I wouldn't mind so much but I only had the dratted cable readjusted last week at the garage and it's only been on the car 7 flippin' months. Looks like my wedding dress hunt with my friend will be put off for another day (sigh).

sav3r - how about HM tomato puree/sauce or HM soup - then you can eat the experiment afterwards!

Hope everyone has a good week and fingers crossed that the weather doesn't batter any flyladies x
    I'd rather be watching CSI!

I know this isn't a question about flying, but it was on my today list, DS2 has homework we are struggling with.

We have to freeze five liquids and see what happens to them. Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions as to what liquids we could use. Surely most things will just turn to solid ice.

I hated science at school, wish they could have suggested what to use and we see what happens to them.

    Can anyone help? pls?
i think that is probably my domain - being a science teacher :D . Yes, everything should turn into a solid - but - water expands when it freezes so the cube gets bigger - other things are supposed to get smaller as they turn into a solid. But, as most things are water based anyway, then no difference will be spotted.

perhaps try - an alcohol based drink - e.g.vodka as it won't freeze because you can't get it cold enough, tea, orange juice, coke, water ;)just caught up - salt water would be good, perhaps sugar water too. wouldn't want to advice you to put things like antifreeze or lighter fuel in your freezer cos of risk of contaminating your food and poisoning yourself. teacher shouldn't expect that but you never know with some of them.

Is this primary or secondary - sounds like the sort of thing we might do with y7. saw he's primary age

right, cat dried, managed to set the burglar alarm off and wake DH up, packed lunch made, meat out of freezer for dinner, breakfast eaten - DS now awake and very whingy/thirsty bless him.

Need to finish getting ready and skedaddle i think.

    Michelle, x

    Morning All

I spent yesterday in bed with an upset stomach so I haven't got round to catching up with the end of last week's thread so hugs to anyone who needs them.

DH away tonight so hopefully will manage to get some things done.

Hopefully we should have a plumber coming out tonight as the pilot light has gone out so we've got no heating or hot water - which I found out after running a bath this morning as I didn't have one last night!

Kaz - hope everything goes okay - thinking of you.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Morning all

Heavy gales here on the south coast throughout the night and there's more to come apparently. No damage here that I can see.

    Stay safe.

morning, hope everyone is okay with the winds, it must be awful for some of you. We have lots of wind and rain here, I didn't think it would get to us. Its blown over my huge rhodedendron(sp) and broken the pot in two. However it's done that I don't know the other one with the azealea is just the same and it's fine:confused: The pots are taller than my knees. Still if that's all it is, we've been lucky, I hope you all are too.
