Well done Tylersbabe :T - stay with us - it does get easier as time goes by because things are naturally kept cleaner so flying takes less time as the weeks go by.

Aaahhhhh - work went mega wrong - student teacher not in so i had to teach y11, main lab technician off, other trainee one got most things wrong, and i have worked my socks off and still feel like i am getting nowhere. Guy i share the form with was useless and did nothing all week apart from leave carp on my desk, so i spent the majority just sorting/binning/reading memos/filing. Also, that means my day tomorrow which was meant to be completely free of lessons - i now need to supervise a group of y10s who didn't go on work experience (so obviously all the really nice kids then  and also teach my 2 lessons that the student normally does as he isn't in tomorrow either. I also have been put down to do detention duty on Friday night unexpectedly, and my suggestion of leaving early went down like a lead balloon.

DS has been sick a number of times today, although he does keep having a nibble of some toast. DH has gone into work when i got in, so i am just list checking while DS is having a snooze on the sofa, and then see what i still need to do tonight. Mainly having a chill out while i can, as i don't know when DH will be in, and i will be in charge till then, and i know as a minimum tonight i need to mark a set of test papers, wash a load of sicky and snotty clothes, make a curry, have a bath, and try to have some switch off time. I think in order to save my sanity i need to finish work.

    Jobs for March 10th – 16th:

    extras:
    • printed out y8 test grid for wednesday
    • tidied desk in my classroom from supply teachers and my work colleagues
    • sorted through work done by y7 and y8 last week - now have even more marking to do
    • got petrol
    • read all memos and paperwork from my pigeon hole
    • emptied out A4 paper organiser on my desk in office - binned most of it
    • sorted out equipment order as technician got all confused in my absence
    • took resources for my lessons into the lab ready for the lessons
    • put resources away after my lessons
    • talked to head of faculty about where i am up to with schemes and what still needs to be done.
    • DH has hung up a load of washing for me while i've been at work, and started to put the next load in the WM
i really don't like it when i haven't set the agenda on days like today, but i suppose better to react rather than let build up.

I know tomorrow is going to be long and busy too, as i think it will be my last day, and there is a meeting at DS's nursery for parents tomorrow at 6:15, so should go to that really as i don't know what they are changing but it is obviously big to call a meeting like that.

    Evening Ladies

Been busy here today. Spent yesterday sorting out all the storage in our bedroom so under my bed is now clear except for 1 suitcase housing the spare duvet/pillows and another with stuff mum leaves behind whenever she visits (thinks there is a smaller case of her stuff in the garage too:rolleyes: ). Did the school run, came home and:-

    S & S kitchen
    S & S bathroom
    tidied littles room (damage limitation)
    Dusted lounge
    Hoovered through
Wash porch, bathroom and kitchen floors

Our bedroom got blitzed yesterday so just the bedding to change (which I will do tomorrow now).

DD2 to nursery this pm then dashed home for my driving lesson. Picked littles up from school and off the ballet class. Home and tea scoffed and washed up after - just gonna dry dishes. Got some of the dreading ironing to do later.

Gonna see about moving ballet lesson to a school in Ely on Saturday mornings, just waiting for info from them. Need to see if DH will get on board with this too as he will have to do it as I will be at work 3 out of 4 weekends. The class they are at now is a real scramble and I think the classes are too big for them to learn anything - DD1 did say it was difficult.

Kaz - Deepest sympathies for your loss, glad that everything went as well as could be expected but some lovely memories of the life she lead by the sounds of it.

Nicki - Way to go! Am so chuffed for you:j

Embb - You sound as scatty as me.

Brain freeze now cannot remember who else wrote what so hugs to those who need them.

I am not sure if its just generally feeling better after the chickenpox or what but I feel like my old self. DD2 has been sleeping much better and in the last 10 days has only woken during the night once so guess it could be down to getting more than 4 hours sleep in total per night. Bet I have jinxed it now but typed it with my fingers crossed just in case:D .

    Hi Michelle

I sympathise reatly with your work situation. It is so hard being a working Mum. I work school hours, 5 days during term time and 3 during school hols. I find it hard when they are ill, and feel so guilty if I need time off with them.

Made my posh and poor risotto, poor with the value peas but posh with the organic rice and the pancetta because I must have frozen the bacon :rotfl: lovely it is but way too hot so I am taking mouthfuls doing that ha ha ha hot wafting thing as I am hungry :rotfl: :o

Pigpen, welcome home, give DS1 a nudge from me, at least you know you are home :rotfl: Oh and I am a smoker who's a terribly considerate one who doesn't like smoking in public places, prefers going outside to smoke at a pub (didn't bother me when they changed the laws apart from how much agro gets caused outside pubs now and my friends live close to one which has become unbearable since the smoking ban and everyones outside) I won't smoke anywhere that kids are playing etc, smoking in crowded streets is a pet hate because I know children inc my son who have been burnt by smokers, I stand in the rain to smoke at home because I don't smoke in the house, don't smoke in the car etc, so would probably annoy you more :rotfl: a lot of people I know don't actually know I am a smoker because they don't see me doing it :p

Weird DP not being here, usually Monday nights is the only night we're all in together and not busy, boys don't seem too bothered to be honest and I'll get to watch what I like on tele later :D bonus. Need to put the washload on in a mo now it's cleaner and less whiffy, finish dinner first I think. Might even make a start on the next assignment, or at least look at it.
One day I might be more organised...........

I managed to get everything done today, hope all went to plan for you all too and you're all safe and warm.
I also managed some sort of meal plan today too, I really need to cut back on food bill.
Shopping in the morning then flying when I get home, I'll catch up with you all in the afternoon - this board moves so quickly, I'm trying my best/finding it hard to keep up with news. Sorry:o

kaz, hugs to you and your family. It is a sad time when the last of the older generation leaves us.
nicki, best of luck with your plans, things really are changing for the better. I taught IT for years because there wasn't anyone in the school qualified for the subject and I loved it. Its great teaching a subject kids love. (I wasn't qualified to teach it but I was interested-glad things have changed).
lil_me make the most of watching your choice of programs. In a mainly male household I have to argue to watch 'my' programs. I've been watching Lark rise to Candleford and they all moan and talk all the way through it. I hate the compulsory 'yellow spots' too. I have a designated 'boy' toilet downstairs but they still use the others.
Penelopepenguin, our hens started laying again about 3 weeks ago. It is a real treat to have so many lovely fresh eggs. They all went on strike for about 3 months. The dog chased them, and they started laying the next day. Is that just a coincidence?

cha97michelle, It sounds like you are really ready to leave work. I am sure they are not sticking to their duty of care towards you. Why is it whenever you share a form with someone the other person just leaves everything to be dealt with by you? I hate to be sexist but whenever I shared with a man they did exactly as you describe. Grrrrrrrr!

I have had a productive day and achieved level 3 which I am delighted about. I hope its an easy day tomorrow though. Bathrooms etc.:A pigpen :A please.:A

poohbear, no downstairs loo/bathroom so we only have one so I get the joy of cleaning his stubble out of the sink rather than using it as an exfoliator, aswell as the lovely loo issues :( will be enjoying watching my stuff, once I get double trouble in bed of course, noone to make cuppas for except me so I probably won't have one. Peaceful night, well it will be if this dog stops f@rting, yuk!!!! Oh and I think the hens are saying - 'Look we can lay eggs, get rid of the dog as he can't' :rotfl:

Michelle, don't post that, 9L1, I was in 9L1 in my school :rotfl: too many bad memories
