Feeling today has been a waste of time.
DS1 came home from footie soaked and caked in mud which went all over the kitchen floor (which had been cleaned) and the sink is now full of muddy socks etc which are too dirty to go straight in the WM.
DS2 made a fruit salad so everywhere is sticky and the sink is full of muddy clothes so he can't clear it up.
DS3 back from beavers in a foul mood so put him straight to bed.
So hope OH is home in time to do the cricket pickups as I don't want to go out again.
Kaz - glad the sun came out at Nanny's funeral. I know what you mean about end of a generation as we had that when Great Aunt Billie died. My Mum and her siblings are now the oldest generation on that side of the family so we all felt we had moved up a step.
Vanilla - that is so sad about your DD I hope the teachers can help. Our school have buddy benches for the children to sit on if they have nobody to play with and the buddy's (kids in hats who volunteer) come and find them a friend or play with them
PP which committee have you stood down from? I stood down as Treasurer of our PTA last month.
Time for a glass of wine whilst I redo some of the kitchen. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Our house used to be a grotty guest house so we have sinks in all the bedrooms and we had three bathroms when we moved in. I've had the shower room made into a laundry room with boys loo and sink. I have to confess it is still the same loo as when we moved in, a lovely shade of yellow!!!
We are soon going to change to a new white suite but I am tempted to leave it until they have all left home.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Shall I put the fire on or just go to bed with a book? I've still got no heating and no-one is coming to look at it until tomorrow.
Haven't done anything flyingwise today apart from a load of washing and a bit of ironing this morning. Been to visit my Grandma this evening as it's her birthday and by the time we got back it was time for the kids to go to bed!
Nicki - I started my first job as a TA in November - I'm sure you'll be brill at it and you sound so positive now.
Hope everyone's had a good day

I realised today that because I'm short of time at the moment, that I read through the thread at top speed, then only remember the names I already know and write comments to them - so a very special hello to all the newbies, it's great to have you along!!
I did a minimal bit of speedflying today, sticking to the kitchen as it suits me to do the rooms in the order I'm used to - really only to Level 2, as I didn't do the worktops properly, or wash the floor, as I didn't have the time or the energy.
I had to drive down to Hythe today, and it was really horrible, as bits of the road are wooded and other bits are really exposed, and the wind was buffeting the car. On the plus side, there was practically no ohter traffic, so no delays or queues. Another lovely day ay the school - I'd love to get a job there.
Off to London tomorrow, another RHS show, and Im also taking DS1 to the Museum of Graden History, to look at hoes - he's doing a product study of a hoe for his A2, and so can do some original research into the way hoes have changed design. Can you tell that the suggestion was from me?? In the afternoon there's a talk by Roy Lancaster (plant hunter extraordinaire) and I managed to get a ticket - I've been wanting to hear him speak for years, so just a bit excited!!
Not likely to be flying much tomorrow...I'll have to catch up at the weekend.
Jill - are you feeling better now than a few weeks ago?
Nicki - I've been a SAHM for over 17 years, and it was scary doing a returners course, and then working - but absolutely great too. You'll just love it!!
kaz - it sounds like a wonderful family send off.
(((AnW's mum)))It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Kaz - glad it went okay today and the sun shone a bit for you all xx
Vanilla - what a tough situtation for you and your DD, hugs to you both, what a lovely DS you have to play with her, most kids don't want their siblings at school
Shell - glad your feeling better
Michelle - poor Charlie, what a carp day for you
Not done a lot this afternoon, just played with DS and spoke to my neighbours mum for about half an hour. Nipped to Sainsburys and got some great yellow stickered bargins, think the weather kept people away so now my freezers well stocked thankfully, bit tight this month. Going to do some batch cooking tomorrow and Weds with DH being away to try and get ahead of myself.
Had IL's round for a few hours, cooked them some yellow stickered lasange and salad, they were a great help with DS and gave me a bit of a break, bless them.
Right, update spending dairy and 'look' at my to do book LOL xLightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!

Hi all - I'm a newbie to this, and my flat was quite clean today after flea busting at the weekend (one of my kitties had a few little b*ggers)
I'm feeling really pleased with myself considering I got up at 4.30 to travel half way across the country and back for work. As soon as i got in I was straight to it:
Mad Monday - Master Bedroom & Landing
Level 1
Check fire alarms are working
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.
Fling open the window and let in the spring! (it had stoped raining)
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum & turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen.. (bf was having a nap - couldn't do it on my own)
Air the duvet
15 minutes floordrobe clearance (it needed it!)
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort 10 things from your wardrobe (or someone elses) that you can get rid of... and a pair of shoes only counts as one thing! likewise socks!
Clear a hotspot.. or spend 15 minutes clearing one.
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
39 fling boogie time, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
Clean all the upstairs door frames
Clean windows in these rooms
Clear the top of a bedside cupboard/chest of drawers or shelf ( feeling smug cos it was clean from the weekend)
I don't think I'll have such a polished halo as the week goes on though - I'm meeting a friend after work tomorrow so don't expect to be home until about 8 and I'm going to stay at my Mum's on Friday for her birthday straight after work - could always fly round her house as a treat!
Thanks for this great thread, I really need something like this. I tend to leave everything to the weekend and there's so much to do!
