Just checked the met office website and the latest severe weather warning is the winds are expected to last until 8pm tonight
My car is currently covered in bits of debris like leaves etc. The back garden is covered in twigs and pine cones from the trees at the bottom of the garden. But hey, the sun is shiningI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Just cheered me up with that.
DD1 has come home from school in a right mood! Can't do anything right for her today. So sent her upstairs to get her pj's on. Bed at 6.45 me thinks!
Failing miserably at flying today - not done a thing!
Here's the revised list for today now (not even attempting a full master bed clean as I know its not going to happen - did bedding on Thurs anyway.)- Tidy kitchen
- empty bin
- pick up rubbish from bedroom
- put washing in machine
- try not to strangle both the kids
If I achieve the last one it'll be a miracle!!!0 -
Hi everyone
Back from Nanny's funeral so thanks for all your kind hugs. It was a lovely service and it was nice to see so many relatives show up for her Even the sunshine turned up for a while. Mostly my dads cousins as Nanny was one of 12 children  so dads cousins number about 50. It was sad too, as she was the youngest and last of that era to die which is another generation all gone now. Still seems hard to believe she's gone as she wasnt ill as such and just died peacefully in her sleep so no chance for proper goodbyes. The pub where we went to after did a lovely spread and is just across the river from where she was born in Ely (and where she will go home when we bury the ashes)and right next to where she and Grandad lived for a while. The pub also have old photos of the family in there so there was a real family history link which was lovely. A nice send off.
No flying for today although I will sort the HUUUUUUUGE pile of washing and see what can be folded and put away (taking hints from all you lot) and I 'm going to have an early night as I could lay down and go to sleep now - think I'm coming down with a cold as well.
Parrots for me to see if that helps I think now plus another cuppa.
See you all later and thanx again
K xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Not done much here today, went to meeting at school and the teacher was telling me that DD has no friends but doesn't understand why, she stands alone most days in the playground and same in class. The only people who will play with her is DS1 and 2 off his friends. I think the problem is the kids don't realise that if they stand behind her she can't hear them and that they need to be facing her for her to understand, so they get bored repeating themselves and don't bother with them, even when DD asks to play they tell her no and to go away. Feeling really sorry for her.
Right homework done and dinner on, then i'll do the list.
Kaz i'm so sorry for your loss. (((hugs)))Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

I worked in a pet shop for years and lost count of the times I managed that. The sick feeling is just you reacting to the gross factor. Unless your fish have TB or you have put in a lot of medication, you will be fine! :rotfl:
I swallowed a fish once, accident I swear, but needless to say, I will NEVER eat sushi!
Goldfish water tastes worse than tropical water I noticed!
so list...

Right, oven on for dinner, hoover filter drying, so will shove dinner on and hoover the bedroom.

(((hugs))) to Kaz - sounds like you gave your nanny a lovely send off - and how great to have a pub that isn't just full of yobs and alcopops but still has some character. Hope that you got chance to remember some of the lovely times with your Nan rather than just sadness x
Your family sound better than our load of ragamuffins - whenever my dad's lot get together there's always at least one punch-up, solemn occasion or not (wonder why I'm not telling them about my wedding)
So, dress shopping called off but car fixed and picked up - they didn't charge me for the repair but unfortunately had no luck getting the tow money refunded time to look for a different car I think - i should've threatened them with pigpen- where is she today? in piggy quarantine after cavorting with all the pooches?? (ooh, i'm gonna get battered for that one, she says running and hiding under the tidied bed)
Bedroom nice and tidy - wonder what delights await us tomorrow?I'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Hi everyone
Thanks for all the suggestions, better raid my cupboards. Did fancy trying the anti-freeze but worried about putting it near the food in my freezer. I was told diesel would be a good one, apparently it goes like wax, but it would smell forever, yuk!:rotfl: :rotfl:
After my flying achievements lately I was feeling quite relaxed and chuffed with myself. I got home from work and the stress level went to 95%.
I need to find a new NHS dentist for the boys. If I want to stay with the current one(stopping NHS end April), they can be treated on a private basis £35 for a check-up, the normal rate for all else, - or £6.95 each per month on Denplan.   I think this is disgusting. Also, I only made an appt for their check-up last week, they never said a word. This means we will have 3 diff dentists for a family of 4!
Hope everyone is surviving the storms, we haven't had it too bad here, but it
looks dreadful on the TV.0
