I done this many many years ago, think it too me about 2 days and got about £100, which was good for back then!

Organisation is the key. I spent the first morning organising my route which really really helped. OH also done a round with his mate and they didnt plan a route and it too them 3 times longer.

I actually enjoyed doing it but try and avoid peak times - ie schools finishing.

Hi I have just done this. Yes you can choose your own hours within an 8am - 8pm timeframe and week to achieve it! I did a couple of hours each morning. The pay was £51 for delivering 465 books

By the way, I had to collect the Thompson locals form a pick up point about 5 miles away, so that eats into your time aswell. Just for a guide - I have an Astra - with the back seat down I managed to get around 750 books in so took two trips. I also had to store them in my house. They took up all of the downstairs hallway.

Same here 2 trips in my renault scenic and a lot of books in my hall for 3 days.

Thats a good point, you can get routes tat are city or rural. City routes can be a bit scary but rural ones are more legwork/car work!
Flats can be hard to get entry and it really is hard work.
I did meet lots of lovely people though, even the postman for the area ened up recognising me. One chinese lady thought I worked for BT and asked me could I cancel her ex flatmates phone! She also wanted to know how she could get broadband. She was very friendly just struggling with the language. I also met lots of very lonely elderly folk, some even invited me in for a cuppa (I also changed a lightbulb).

Yes I am hoping my fuel costs/wear & tear. will seriously reduce these earnings for the tax man. I give everything to an accountant because I mystery shop and he is very good at reminding me what I can claim for.
  • I did it once a few years ago and I would never do it again, it was a flipping nightmare, really hard work and they give you LOADS to do and I think if I had sat down and worked out how much the petrol cost me and how long it actually took and how stressed out I had gotten It would not have been worth my while!
