I guess there are some benefits to living a 10 min walk away from ikea!

I think its best to go in the day before and do a list of what you want to buy,,,, this will make the whole process quicker on Saturday,, i hope!

The ikea family card is great,, entitles you to free coffe in the cafe to!

Does the discount apply to items not in stock?

We want a leather Sofa but it takes 3- 4 weeks.

    Thanks

I was hoping to go into the store and pick up the kitchen units and also doors, and probably some appliances.

A poster above said: "Anyone buying a kitchen will not be able to collect on the day, you will be given an order form to pay for and asked to come back at a later date to pick it up."

Does this mean I wont be able to take anything away at all? Not even the cabinets or doors? I know they're instock because I bought a door last night to test.
Anyone know how things like worktops and appliances are ordered? Can appliances be taken away on the day?

    Also, just for information
    £3000 on kitchen with 21% off = £2370.
£1500 on the 21% day, and another £1500 ANY OTHER DAY with the £200 appliance offer, works out as £2485, or 13.3% off the £3000 spend.

So I'm not totally desperate to buy everything on Saturday.

Ikea are expecting massive demand in kitchens, so will be issuing `vouchers` for those that cannot get the whole design/buying process completed on the day - those with the `vouchers`can return again on another day (when its not so busy) and complete the kithen buying process.....my mole tells me that if your kitchen is in stock then you can take it home when you purchase it. Please bear in mind that not all kitchens and worktops are held in stock - some are only available to be ordered & paid for in store to be delivered at a later date.
The kids creche will be open all day and the reason all the stores are open 6am till midnight is to try and ease the congestion. If customers shopping behavior is near normal my mole says either visit early or latere in the day.
And what ever you do - dont try to get in between mid day and 6pm...it will be too busy!

    Hope this helps

Good tips there thanks, I was planning on going late as there is something I want to buy anyway but I'll check on Friday to make sure its in stock and whereabouts in the warehouse then hopefully I can just home in on what I want and straight to the tills.
  • OH NO!

So glad I saw this post - I was planning on 'popping in' to my local Ikea on Sat for a few things, but I'll def. go another day to avoid the chaos - even saving 21% aint worth it.

Will be even more of a nightmare in Bristol as it is near the Rovers' footie ground and they have a home match........
