Does anyone know what the deal would be with gettting all the (many!) things I'd buy delivered the week after? I'm moving house that week, ond won't have the keys untill the 25th... so would I just give the cashier a list and ask for delivery later?

    Sorry, I'm immensely impractical! :embarasse

When we had stuff from Ikea delivered we had go in the store and purchase it and then take it to the delivery bit. They would only keep hold of the items for a few days though so we had the delivery the next day so you might find they won't hold onto if for that long especially as they are likely to be busy with the sale they only have a limited space in the delivery bit to store the items.

Has anyone joined the Ikea Family? I've just applied for the card, lots of benefits to be had from it by the sounds of it

Not really; free tea and coffee mon-fri; £1 off some meals; some discounts 25% off certain items, but NOT normal furniture items, things like shower gel, and loud water bottles.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

There is normal furniture items, one of the deals for this week was a dining table and chairs set. If you look ok their website it says what the deals are for your local store if you are a family member!

I was thinking yeah 21% off, then i thought it was a mission getting my Dad to go pick up shelves and stuff from ikea anyway and if someone ran into his nice car aaaggghhh.
I think it would definately have to be worth it ie spending a considerable amount to brave something like this.

Just think how much your insurance premiums would go up after you claim against the idiot that ran damaged your car whilst you were inside saving £42 on your £200 sofa

I have my cynical head on.

But to all you guys who brave this i think it's a great saving and many thanks to the op for alerting us to it.:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Find a relative to sit in the car with a digi camera ready to get the details of anyone who bumps it. Give em £20 and a hotdog for the trouble.....

    Hi,
I'm in the Ikea family!! They send you vouchers through the post for money off too. Ive been to Ikea today and used a £10 off voucher (when you spend over £60) that they sent me! We also had our free coffee in the restaurant. Worth joining!:money:

I hope you guys that shared this confidential sale information are aware you can be subject to disciplinary action by your functional area's manager.

Did you not personally get an early warning of this sale date?

Just checked the calander and realised im working on that day , more stupid customers who cannot read a sign stating "cards only" - massive keying errors, big queues, more customers whinging about the 70p administrative charge on MasterCard and Visa Credit cards, loads of losehands to deal with. Lots of till glitches coming through , and how many people will try to use additional discount coupons in conjunction with the pre-existing offer.

Im so glad theres a panic button , i think ill probably need it if the opening of the north london store is anything to go by.

If not, the OP gave you ample opportunity to book this day off!!!!!

I love my IKEA family card (most I go there to buy food but also some house stuff). After 6pm on weekdays you get a meal for £1. Not 1 off, the whole meal is £1.
Also every 3 months or something they send me a discount voucher!

Oooh, thanks very much for this!

I just bought my first home, and moved in last week. We do have quite a large list of things we need from Ikea, I actually bought 2 items just a couple of days ago... never mind! With this, I should save a really decent ammount! Woohooo!

    Thanks OP!!

Must ring SIL tomorrow, and get her to come along too. She has a people carrier :D:D:D :j :rotfl:
