I also work for Ikea,
the 21% discount is still just a rumour and probably wont be confirmed till a week before.
Anyone buying a kitchen will not be able to collect on the day, you will be given an order form to pay for and asked to come back at a later date to pick it up.
Wish us poor Ikea co-workers luck that we don't get trampled in the stampede!YOU GOV - £35.25 PURE PROFILE - £23.80 VALUED OPINIONS - £79.27 ITS YOUR VIEW - £25.00 MY VOICE - 575 POINTS IPOINTS - 10416CASHBACK REWARDS - £19.10 QUIDCO - £92.62 TOLUNA -

Hi, saw this topic and thought I'd sign up to explain a couple of things..
19th April, 21% off everything in store only. Massive contingency plans for queues and parking are being put into place at the store I work in (even down to a breakdown company on standby on the car park!)
Lots of extra stock in the warehouses for immediate re-filling throughout the day!!
Staff gets a day in May where it's 36% off everything (40% if the whole of the UK hit a certain secret amount!)
Massive ad campaign starting a few days before, TV, Radio, Newspapers etc.
Hope that helps!! :T0 -
I hope you guys that shared this confidential sale information are aware you can be subject to disciplinary action by your functional area's manager.0

Just checked the calander and realised im working on that day , more stupid customers who cannot read a sign stating "cards only" - massive keying errors, big queues, more customers whinging about the 70p administrative charge on MasterCard and Visa Credit cards, loads of losehands to deal with. Lots of till glitches coming through , and how many people will try to use additional discount coupons in conjunction with the pre-existing offer.
Im so glad theres a panic button , i think ill probably need it if the opening of the north london store is anything to go by.0 -
We are going in a couple of days, armed with a list of things we would like, as my other half has decided to re decorate half of the house because he can get all of the flooring cheaper in this sale and also his new TV stand
Then we will be up at the crack of dawn and heading down to the gateshead store to get everything we need, armed with 2 cars, him with the 2 children and me with my seats folded downRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Does anyone know what the deal would be with gettting all the (many!) things I'd buy delivered the week after? I'm moving house that week, ond won't have the keys untill the 25th... so would I just give the cashier a list and ask for delivery later?
Sorry, I'm immensely impractical! :embarasse0 -
I'm a little upset now, I've just ordered £1677 worth of kitchen from ikea0
