70p charge for credit card payment???
I wasn't aware of this, it doesn't say anything about it on my receipt. I think someone might possibly have made a small error there
Ikea have charged for using a credit card for ages

There is no separate 70p charge on my receipt, although i have noticed that my 21% discount is 84p short (which would work out around 70p +VAT). Surely in the interests of transparency, a store would have to clearly state the charge?0 -
You must have a dodgy reciept then as ours clearly shows the chargeRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

A big thankyou to MSE for giving me an extra day or two to plan what I needed. I'm replacing my kitchen soon - though not an IKEA one - and had lots that I planned to get from there - but preferably in a months time! I arrived at the Ashton store at 5.55am and managed to get everything on the list I'd made in store at 10pm the night before.
I was all finished and home for 8am and back in bed to catch up on the 3 hours sleep I'd missed.
Saved £70 (so 70p cc charge is small fry) and had a fun time in the queues - which weren't bad at all.
A huge thankyou to the staff0 -
the 70p charge was just added to the total spend on ours, so we still got 21% off that too!!!I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel0

Are you sure you used a credit card, and not a debit card? The charge only applies to credit cards.
Also, the check seems to be made manually, by staff looking or asking, so you may have slipped through.0 -
I did go to the sale on Saturday. Got my stuff and gave it to the delivery guys and they promised delivery on Sunday.
Upto today I have received NO call or anything delivered. I have tried several times calling them but the phones just rings and nobody picks up.
Is anybody else had a problem of delivery..........OR am I the only one.................0 -
Went to Coventry store. Got there about 6:30. Had about an hour's wait whilst they tried to find out where the kitchen vouchers were. Then went and had my free breakfast.
Next went to order my sofa, and had a short wait in a queue whilst the found someone who could actually authorise the 21% discount on orders on sofas, but with two of them there the queue started going down more quickly.
Popped down and picked up a couple of bits and pieces then went to the checkouts. All tills were open, and there were only a few people in front of me in the queue.
All in all a very civilised experience. All staff were friendly, and everyone in the few queues I did wait in seemed to be enjoying it and having a laugh at the few hiccoughs that did happen.
The store actually seemed pretty deserted, quieter than other Saturday's I've been there. The only real difference was that everyone there was buying things, so the queues for ordering and paying were a bit longer.
So glad I didn't need to take anything for home delivery though, that queue looked like the killer.
Blimey- I arrived at Coventry store at 6am and had totally different experience.
We queued 15 mins to order sofa and had to go back to ask another member of staff what the first had told me as I could not understand (he had a lisp and i did not want to keep asking to resay things). We then went for breakfast and got into marketplace at 7:30. It took us 20 mins to locate and manoevre sofa into queue. then 40 min wait in queue to then have to go to pick up point as at least 12 tills not open . WE were told problem was that there were not enough trolleys to get stuff onto and that some staff had failed to turn up. Waited 50 mins for armchairs and covers for sofa then got member of staff to help us go to home delivery. It was really cold and by 10am I had to phone my husband to come and pick up my daughter.I then started to complain so we got chairs, coffee and hotdogs and after a further moan free parking. I eventually left the store at 12.10pm!!!
whole operation took over 6 hours.
My sofa was delivered yesterday.0 -
I had to return some faulty items that I had brought in the sale and was told that I could have a refund then I would have to go back into the store and buy the same item again.
I asked if I would have to pay the sale price or the normal price. They told me I would have to pay the normal price at which point I complained it wasn't my fault that the item I had brought was faulty and they let me have the item at the sale price.
So just watch out if you want to exchange items brought at the sale price.0
