Also - IKEA is a shop, it is there to sell boxes to people, if an item has sold out then it is sold out, no amount of ranting will make it re-appear and you will not get a rain-check except for kitchens, get there a bit earlier
.
Mr P - Someone mentioned earlier that it may be possible to purchase your kitchen on the day but then arrange to go back to collect another day. May I ask if this is actually the case and, more importantly, does it only apply to kitchens? We wish to purchase four of the 8ft high Pax wardrobes - not exactly small items - and I was hoping that the same offer was being applied to them. Can you assist with this query?
Many thanks :-D0 -
If you don't have a family card and don't want to sign up for one, can you still go at 6am or have to wait til 8am? Thanks!0

From the terms and conditions:Customers who are unable to complete their kitchen purchase on the 19th April (due to increased sales volumes) will be issued with a 21% discount coupon, (to allow the option of completing the purchase at a later date). Coupons will only be issued on the 19th of April. Customers must return to the store and present the coupon between April 20th and May 4th 2008 to complete their transaction. Coupons presented after this date will not be valid. See coupon for further details.0 -
To Merson Tuffers,
From what I have been told the "Rain Check" only applies to kitchens, and is only applicable till the 4th May. You will only get the vouchers on the 19th.
It is expected that the kitchen specialists will be "rammed" but what will happen in Bedrooms I have no idea.
If it were me shopping (shudder) I would get my picking list sorted today, and, on Sat go straight into the exit to Self Serve grab a couple of trolleys and hit the ground running.
HTHThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -

I can't see anything on the website that says it is Family Card holders only until 8pm. The only thing it says is that there will be free breakfast for Family Card holders between those times.0 -

The staff were rude, the manager was a complete joke and I had to take it up with head office as they refusd to change it. Then when I went up to the store in the lift I couldn't find the way out! the layout is horrible! That is one ikea store I will never return to!!!
I agree the layout in that store is very very bad!0 -
hey all, i got the email too cant wait for sat.......:)0

Had an e-mail from the family card membership letting me know all about the sale!
One day only, doors open 6am-8am for Ikea Family Card holders only (although did say bring family members and they can join at the door), then until midnight.
Free breakfast for Family Ikea cardholders 6-8!!
Crowds will be horendous I'm sure.  :mad:0 -
God are you all nuts? Although the 21% off is very tempting, I can't bear the thought of spending hours and hours of shuffling, bumping and queuing and that's just trying to get parked , let alone the checkouts!! LOL (they're a joke)
I'd rather save myself the torture and loadsamoney and not spend ANYTHING there. The stuff I've bought in the past hasn't been as good quality as we would like to believe.
Hope you all get a bargain for your trouble. Life is too short to spend a saturday in IKEA from hell for me!
Now if the offer was even half of that online................ well that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.0 -
i've looked at the ad from ikea and it doesn't mention anything about ''you can only get in at 6 if you're a family card member'' but every other post on here says different (on this page alone there is 1 saying you can 1 you cant) does anyone know for sure?
another thing worring me is someone said earlier that the delivery service would be unavailable on sat, i'm looking to buy a couple of sofas and think i might struggle to get them in the car
i'd hate to go all the way up there on a wasted trip
any help would be fantastic0
