Tram or car to Croydon is the question?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

No point getting there early - you'll get killed in the crowds. Best to get there the night before and camp out.
Go in the day before, pick everything you want and make sure it's in stock. Write down all the aisle and shelf numbers for everything and when the doors open RUN LIKE HELL for the tills!!
"I wonder what discount you get for going into labour in Ikea??!!"
You won't get any discount - you'll just get trampled by the tens of thousands of bargain hunters who will not thank you for getting in their way. Best of luck with babyYou don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
We're off to the Coventry Ikea on Sautrday anyway, before I found out about the sale, so this has just made it even better!!
Glad to see Martin confirmed it on IPTW too!Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

Try the new Coventry branch which is in Coventry City Centre...It's almost a pleasure to shop there, owing to the LACK of customers !!!
Openeing week bombed so I can't see that a day's sale would make much difference.
The worst bit is the check out. I always seem to get served by a muppet who can't work the til.
May go down and get a new sofa. We have been eyeing one up for a while now.0 -
Bahhh - Wanted to get there for the free breakfast but DS's paper round doesn't finish until 7.30
Then I've got to take him for ski lesson to Brum
Good job it's open until midnight but unhappily trains don't run that late from Cov:rolleyes:Noli nothis permittere te terere

Oops sorry that didnt work sorry just received an email from ikea
" It's 21 years since we opened our first store in the UK. Celebrate with us on 19th April, when we're offering 21% off everything* in store.
The party starts early for IKEA FAMILY members, with a FREE breakfast between 6am-8am on 19th April in the IKEA restaurant. There'll be special offers for FAMILY members all day throughout the store too."Booo!!!0 -
I just received the email from Ikea too.
It says if you're not a family member, you can join at the door and still get the free breakfast.
Top tip: if you can wear a reversible coat and take a hat... go round and have 2
The actual wording is:
"Friends and family are welcome along too - they can simply join IKEA FAMILY on the door to enjoy the free breakfast and loads of family offers"0 -
Just had my email from Ikea with the details of this, can't wait!!!0

Just priced up the kitchen, and then written a list wih 45 other items, from a sofa, 2 wardrobes, 2 shelves, a dressing table, lamps, blinds......couldn't have come at a better time, exchanged last week, move in in 2. Wouldv'e had to spend the cash anyway.
Van booked, live 10 mins away, reckon I'll have to go in 3 times to get it all!
strategic route planned, final recce mission tomorrow.
Am I a little too keen and prepared for this?0
