We emailed the administrator and never heard anything back - and no form. ANyone else in that situation?

No letters will be sent out by the administrators, instead they have posted a report on the homepage of The Mobile Outlet.
I've got no idea what practical relevance this report has for us though, except that the administrators will be receiving the first £65,000 recovered from the company
Any suggestions??0 -
This is the relevant bit:On present information we consider that the Company will have insufficient property to enable a distribution to be made to unsecured creditorsTime to forget about them and move on, I'm afraid.0

This company seems to be shut down. Their website is not working anymore.
Lucky my contract with them had been ended since the beginning of last year and I didnt buy any more contract phone with them since then.
However I didnt have any problem getting cashback from them in the past.0 -

Hey guys, hope you're all well.
Like many of you, I took out an EXPENSIVE (£40 per month) contract with a cashback company that went bust (mine was themobileoutlet). The network was O2 and I was meant to get installments back after sending back the forms etc which equated to a line rental of £0 per month! However, they went bust in month 6 of my deal and so I got no cashback and was stuck with a £40 per month deal that comes to £480 in total, a staggering amount. HOWEVER, what takes the biscuit even more was that I didn't even need the contract. I currently am with O2 and have a very good deal with them (see MSE's article on mobile cost cutting for details). So really, I was just being greedy and thinking I would get another free contract on the side (I had successfully gotten cashbacks from coolnewmobile in the past 2 years).
So i procrastinated for ages, checking the forums for easy solutions, even considering terminating the direct debit directly, but finally got round to speaking to O2 (grovelling, essentially) about cancelling the cashback deal.
I wrote to them explaining that a) The deal was taken out solely based on the fact that I was promsied cashback and that promise has now been broken (though that's not O2's fault), b) that I ALREADY have an O2 contract and I have no problem carrying on with that contract, so it's not as if I'd be leaving O2 as such and c) that I'm a student, and genuinely cannot afford to throw away £480 on something that isn't needed, or indeed isn't even being used!
So we played email tennis a few times, with them pretty much saying that I had to continue with it til month 9, at which point I could downgrade to one tariff cheaper blah blah blah. Fair enough. But after all that I essentially pleaded with them (and lucky for me that I am an existing customer with a different contract with them anyway, and have been so for many years) and I got a phonecall from them this morning saying that seeing as I have 2 contracts with them and that the mobileoutlet went bust etc, they were willing to mutually terminate the deal with no penalty or anything. The only "catch" as such (which isn't really a catch at all, to be perfectly honest) is that I return the phone that they gave me. DEAL.
I have to say, I'm really impressed with O2. They've really gone out of their way to do me a favour and I really appreciate what that means. I can happily say that if I had to choose between O2 and another company I'm more than happy to stay put based on their very compeititve deal, their good customer service (I'm with O2 online btw) and this particular incident where they've shown a lot of maturity.
So, here's my advice to anyone whose cashback has gone bust:
Write a letter or email if possible. I find that a much easier way to communicate your point across eloquently, without messing up your words or forgetting important things to say, and also it means you won't be shy to genuinely ask for something or apologise or whatever.
Secondly, be polite, but be persistent. When they reply saying no, you reply asking a favour for a valued and loyal customer (assuming you're already with them, if you're not, then sorry I'm not really sure).
lastly, with regards to O2, my email was forwarded to the appropriate team. Here's what the email said:
"I've forwarded your details to our Cashback team. They deal specifically with customers who've had a Cashback offer from a third party company." so perhaps ask to be forwarded onto your networks appropriate team?
Hope this helps guys, although I've certainly lost money (£40 a month for 6months), at least it's damage limitation. Best of luck to you all, don't give up, and a big thank you to O2 for being so understanding.

I bet they were trying to catch you out really, how many get the second phone contract to ebay the phone (a bit weird to get a second one otherwise?), so couldn't return the phone.
Still, all credit to O2 on this one, seems they managed to keep you as a customer in the future?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Anyone managed to get any money yet? I still haven't heard anything from the administrators since the initial letter.0

They have 5000 creditors, and they communicate via their website.
The latest announcement (10/7/08) again says there is "little, if any, likelihood" of any payout.
It really is time to move on.0 -

most definitely, i was impressed that they even agreed to it! but i wont be making the same mistake of taking out any cashback deals with crappy little companies ever again!0
