80 miles each way. It's a bit of a drag, but the job moved and so I had 2 choices! I do get paid a bit of travel money though, and I have a little company van that's quite nice, plus there's a 'free' diesel pump in the yard. Certainly wouldn't do it if I was using my own car, that would be a massive pay cut!
Long days, but it's a fairly good job, so what do you do? Probably 4-5 hours a day driving if I work 9-5 and have to catch the rush hour traffic, though at least it is mostly motorway driving.
I've burned a load of 'Teach yourself Spanish CDs', so I'm at least not entirely wasting my time!

40.3 miles each way, but I don't have a lot of choice - distinct lack of jobs in my specialism (government cut NHS funding, we're seen as the easiest clinicians to do without - grr!).

To be honest, it's not that bad. It takes me an average of 1hr 10 mins to get to work and about the same to get back. If they actually get on with building the 2nd tyne tunnel I'll be able to do this even quicker! I don't really mind the travelling, as I didn't drive when I was at uni so my owrk placements were all done on public transport and that was hell - 1hr 45mins to get to a place 15 miles away!

at the moment 2 miles (walk) with twice a week 50 minute drive each way to other offices.

When we move it will be 1hr 45 drive each way (motorway thankfully so no city centre traffic jams), but we're planning for that to be done one way on monday morning, stay over 2 nights with friend, drive home wed eve. work from home thurs/fri.

2 years of this and no longer! I reckon the drive is worth it so we can move soon, also it gives opportunity to do 3 10-12 hr days (nowt else to do in the evenings when nr the office) and then work 9-3 thurs /fri so DS can be picked up from school.

    That's exactly what I said.

It was my 5 year anniversary last month :rotfl:

Just hope tonight's trek is trouble free

Don't count on there not being traffic jams on motorways, especially on Monday mornings. That's why I do my commute late at night ;)
