Eveving,
Not sure if this will post as we have set up a new wireless network and it hates me!!! OHs works fine, but mine will only stay on for a few minutes at a a time :mad
Did alright with THE LIST today - set up the wireless network, OH rang the DVLA about his driving licence, went to look at a wardrobe and tidied the living room, so not too bad, could have been better.
Oh, and the bad news - OH has been targeted by Aktiv Kapital for an OD he paid off 12 years ago. They have bought this 'old debt' and are trying to chance it by harrassing him and hoping he pays up. I checked them out on the internet and its completely bogus, but it means we now have to write them a letter asking them to prove this debt etc (which of course they cant do), and get the 'default' taken off his credit file. What a pain in the a$3e!!
Hope you are all well and had a good day xWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Me again,
Hope that everything went well with the apartment signing etc Scuzz...would love ( I think) to live on my own, unlikely to manage it now I suppose, but feel a little envious of you...but you deserve some good luck...brilliant new job is next.
Welcome to the newbies and hugs to all who are ill or whose nearest and dearest are ill...especially thinking of you Smoky.

We had a letter today from Windsor life to say thata they have been contacted by the financial ombudsman and are investigating our complaint. Considering that we wrote to them at the same time and have not had the courtesy of a reply, I am not holding out much hope!!!
The time scale is 8 weeks, so we will see what happens and how long it takes them to realise they have paid us £542 when they only owe us £66 something......................it will be interesting.
I managed to get 2 table centres done and one of them bound, also ditched a large plastic crate that had been bugging me, I now have a bit more room under my sewing table to put my feet.
We had a chair exercise class this afternoon, just 3 of us there, they are changing the day to Thursday after the holiday, so we may get a few more attending then.
Nothing planned for the weekend, might get a bit more sewing done. I need to start the pillow cases for my friend...and also prepare some hand sewing to take with us when we go away.
OH is watching Frost, its one we have not seem before on till 1.20am........ so guess it will be a late morning again tomorrow..................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi guys,
There is no change in OH's condition at the moment other than his o2 requirements have risen slightly.
I haven't done much other than tidy up today, I can't really get motivated to do more than the basics. I am also just begining to realise what this is going to mean to us financially, if this is going to be a long journey I need to start exploring our options. My holidays are up this weekend and I am unable to go back as there is no-one able to take on what OH did on a regular basis (we worked opposite ends of the day), taking the kids to school as I start at 7am. There is also half term just around the corner and with inset days that is 19 days that they are off.
I need to get some advice next week as the mortgage is not going to go away.
Anyway I hope you are all well.

(((Hugs))) Smoky.
Don't worry about the house, the basics is more than enough.
Take care of yourself and the kids as well as being there for your OH.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) Smokey.......I am so sorry to hear that things are not improving. I can understand your lack of motivation, and also your fears for the future.....I do hope you can work something out...you will need to speak to the mortgage people and also your bank.....there is obviously no way you can go back to work whilst you are having to cope with this and your childrens holidays as well.
Please keep in touch....we are all thinking about you..............take careWas 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Smokey i'd ring Welfare Rights asap, as they will tell you how much help you can get with your mortgage etc.It must be an awful time for you at the mo so am sending you massive ((((hugs))))
Also your mortgage lender should be able to give you a payment holiday in a situation like this:o"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Smokey, you're going through the mill right now. Hang in there.... My advice is to speak to your OH's employer's to find out what sickness insurance they may pay out, especially now that it's pretty clear that your OH is going to be off for some considerable time. That will help you consider the situation with your own employer's - maybe you need just to work different hours to accommodate your caring obligations. Once you've got those clear you can consider how to best manage your monies in and monies out. You are being v.brave thinking of these things just now, your head and heart are elsewhere. Life can be such a biatch.0
