Tea's been made, eaten, washing up done and the kids bathed and I have now parked my backside for the night.I've had one of those strange days today where I just can't be bothered, before having kids I would have snuggled up with a good book and not stirred all day.How things have changed:rolleyes:

Emptypurse I found my way here just before Christmas for exactly the same reason as I was fed up of being skint when I should have had plenty of money.Give it a few weeks read a few different threads and you'll find certain things will inspire you to change the way you do things and suddenly money wont be such an issue any more

Have only caught up with this page so far! Thank goodness it's Friday! VickyA - clearly your school has had "the" phone call! I'm still waiting! have got to the stage where I dread the sound of the phone ringing up until about midday every day! Best of luck for next week - I'm sure it will be fine!
Emptypurse - welcome! This is def. the place to be!
I'm going to go back to the beginning now to catch up - maybe back later!

Thank you all so much for the welcome. I'm feeling a bit braver about economising already - but please do kick me firmly up the backside if I fall off the wagon! I've lurked on this site for years so you think I'd be converted by now but I'm as bad as ever.....Had a bit of drama just as I got home this evening. As I went to open the front door I saw a chap in dark clothing climbing rapidly up a neighbour's drainpipe and through an open window into the house! I didn't know what else to do so I ended up dialling 999. The police came out but they haven't been over to see me so I guess it must have been a false alarm. I do feel silly for wasting their time. But it's so difficult in London - no one knows their neighbours and it's far too dangerous to investigate strange things on your own. Anyway, back to OS activities. This evening I shall clear out my fridge, sort out 15 things from my paperwork mountain, pick up everything from the bedroom floor and then do a bit of ironing. Oh, and it might be a good idea to eat something first :)

    Evening All,

Happy Birthday to all those celebrating, hope you all get spoilt OS style of course!!

Welcome to the newbies, this site is very addictive! I don't post as often as I should but I read it every day.

Hugs to those in need, esp Smokey - you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers, fingers crossed for you and your family. There are lots of positive thoughts coming from all over for you.

Well it is finally Friday - Yea :j I finished work at 2 and came home and cleared the ironing pile (yes I ironed it all not just hid it!!) and hoovered downstairs.:T

Dinner was Spag Bol from the freezer - which reminds me I must do a batch cook on Sunday. Am having an op on my ankle on Fri 14th (hopefully 4th time lucky :rotfl: !!!) and won't be too mobile so will be relying on what's in the freezer for a couple of weeks.

Am sat with a glass of Baileys in front of the tv, DS fed, bathed and in bed watching a DVD. This is the life!;)

Right off to finish the Baileys and get a top up.

Take care all and have a wonderful weekend.

    Evening all

very long day at w*rk - didn't leave till 6.30. went to the funeral of a retired colleague this morning - lovely service - completely lost it when her dgd read out a peom that she's written about her wonderful nanny.

dd22 called to say that dd18 is back with her abusive bf but not to let on that i know. when one of them starts a sentence with "I thought you ought to know - but it's a secret" well i sometimes wish they'd keep it that way - still forewarned is forearmed i suppose. Her dsis has told her not to ocme running to her if there's trouble but as far as I'm concerned she can run to me a thousand times

dd11 gone with her daddy for the weekend which makes it a meaty weekend - am celebrating with a peice of steak and a plate o chinese snacks with sweet chilli dip - no veggies - just that - yum

Have a great day birthday boys and girls
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Evening Guys!

Not done much at all today except sleep really. Im heading off to bed soon as I feel shattered but havent done anything.

We had a dinner tonight of a cheese sarnie and bowl of Heinz Tom soup:D ...nice and easy! OH got on with more decorating today whilst I slept, so was a nice easy tea and its very tasty...specially if you dip the sarnie into the soup:o

Thanks for all the well wishes, they are greatly appreciated.

£20 was paid in from Grassroots today for 1 mystery job and filling in a disability questionaire and we had 5 Yorkshire teabags with a 50p voucher attached come through the post. I also sold £21 on Ebay:j :j :j

Special hugs to Smashing Blouse and Smokey!

Need to write a list for OH to get tomorrow shopping wise as we have friends over Sunday and want to make an easy Lasagne, but just need some decent mince and some salad as I have garlic bread slices (reduced) in the freezer and the sauces I need. Have a plum tart in the freezer which we will have with cream. Also need some veg, fruit, ham and bread. Might make a batch of spagbol for the freezer if OH gets enough mince.

Hope evryone is well today and have had a nice day.

Had an eventfull day today, managed to get a wash load on then spent the afternoon at the hospital, been diagnosed with a DVT. I am 6 weeks post tendon op and immobile, so suspected I suppose. Started my meds today so see how it goes. Thanks to Penny Pincher for the advice.

My DH went to the shop and as a bit of a tongue in cheek brought me a scratch card called "Lucky Streak" it certainly was, as I have just one £98 on the one card!!!!

Not much planned for this weekend apart from daily trips to the clnic for blood tests and injections.

Hope everyone ha a good weekend and big hugs to Smokey
