Where do you see the battery status as a percentage Ian?
On the SE K510i it's in SETTINGS > GENERAL > PHONE STATUS.
I know for a fact that the SE K750 also has this feature, so I'm guessing it's across the board on most/all Sony Ericsson models (but sadly, not on Samsungs - or at least not the E590 !!).

Go to PHONE SETTINGS > EXTRA SETTINGS and untick "keypad lock". Unfortunately, there's no option to vary the time period when the keypad lock automatically kicks in - it's just either on or off (so if you switch it off you'll just have to remember to lock the keypad manually, as the buttons ARE very sensitive - especially the camera button on the side).

    Hooray!

Thanks Ian, the flippin' thing has been driving me mad.

Sorry Ian, I thought you meant the Samsung.

Anyway, I checked on my SE K700i and it doesn't show the battery at all on the phone status screen, just the amount of free memory left.

No, that was my point - I don't like the 3 bar battery meter on the Samsung which is why I want the balloon on the display so I can tell more accurately how much charge the battery has.

Ah, maybe it's just on later SE models. No doubt someone on the mobiles board will know but I haven't bothered to ask.

Did anyone order online and get a trade in envelope?

I did tick the box but I have no idea where to send my old handset to get £10 back lol.

    Thanks.

Anyone know where to download the Samsung PC Studio from? I expected there to be a CD in the box, but there wasn't one.

Looks like there's no specific link for the E590, but if you click on the link for the E900 it works just as well. ;)

    Thanks.

I found this on another forum but I would give them a ring first to double check. I think I would send it by recorded delivery just in case it goes astray.

You can buy on-line and do the trade-in by post (£10 payg; £20 contract)

Send your handset, charger and handbook to:

    CPW Logistics Centre
    FREEPOST LON16119
    Bilston Road
    Wednesbury
    WS10 7JN

Include your transaction number and trade-up amount on the address label.

Works with CPW, OSPS and e2save. icon_lol.gif

[I've just received my £10 cheque for the F3]

    Got Mine too.

Bit annoyed that the text is so small on the texting side of things with no way to increase font size permanently (i.e. nokia) but all in all i'm warming to it.

For those interested in sending Java midlets (games, apps etc) to their phone i used this guide

    http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?t=67530

It works really well. The only part i couldn't get to work was to change resolution on games etc and i can't, as yet, trace any that are specific to 220x220. Anyone know ?
A male chef of 4. My restaurant is always full and i don't need to tout for business.
    OK OK
I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way
  • Out of interest, http://www.envirofone.com are offering £51.94 cash (or £59.73 in Argos vouchers) if you recycle the E590 with them.

So if anyone has bought it and doesnt like it, recycle it through them and actually make a profit :D:D
