Do you have to activate the sim within a certain period? Does the credit stay indefinitely or do you have to use it up by a certain time. If its indefinitely does it have to be used every so often?
No need to activate as it's PRE-ACTIVATED.
AFAIK, there's no expiry on Orange topups but most mobile operators have a time limit after which they will disconnect you if the account is dormant for so long. I'm not sure what Orange's policy is, but you may have to make a chargeable call or text once every 3 months or 6 months for example, to ensure the number is not disconnected. ;)

Do you get your tenner for the old phone though?
no reason why not - just tick the "trade-in" box at the checkout stage:
With your new handset we will send you a pre-addressed freepost bag and a claim form ....... You should complete the form and return the old phone (and the manual and charger where applicable) to the address on the envelope. The mobile you trade-in must be in full working order. Once we have received your trade in we will post you a cheque to the value of the trade-in amount within 28 days.

What a shame you cannot set your own tone for when you recieve a text message.
This immediately puts me off buying this phone.

I would be doubly concerned if none of the text tones allow for tone and vibrate ( at the same time). My current samsung only does one or the other , so you often don't realise you have a text in a noisy environment.

Hi - thanks for this - have ordered online via Quidco (darn didn't see the trade-in box and hadn't read the whole thread). Never mind, just as well to have a spare phone, or will trade in separately!

Thanks - am looking forward to receiving this on Tuesday!

I just ordered and ticked the box for the trade in but there was no mention of this on the confirmation screen or the email I received, is this normal?

I ask as the last two phones I have bought from CPW have had trade ins and I didn't receive anything to send it back with or any paperwork to that effect.

    Hello,

    LTRFTP:j

I work at a Carphone Warehouse store and noticed a decent bargain today...

Samsung E590 Silver on pay as you go for £29.99 (+£10 topup)! From the CPW website...

Hopefully this didn't sound like an advert, but I think this is a cracking deal for a really nice phone... Now before you go, do you have a BT landline sir?... Sorry, force of habit!

a great price! u know which color they are offering? silver/black?

Would just a £10 top-up entitle you to the orange Wednesday service?
