Would just a £10 top-up entitle you to the orange Wednesday service?

I think it used to cost 35p for the text to get your Orange Wednesday tickets so £10 will cover you for a while.

Great find OP: Been into town today and got one for my daughter. Great Phone - even better price. Took an ancient Nokia and Charger in and got £10 for that too, so all in all got a 3 mega pixel Phone for £29.95 + £10.00 top up. Total £39.95 but was given £10 for trade in so cost just £29.95 - and have still got the £10 credit to spend .
    :j
The ticket on the shelf still said £49.99 - I just asked the sales guy to check the price for me. Bargain.

Perfect for daughters first phone. She is well chuffed.

and are these and their software mac friendly ??)

I can confirm phone is unlocked, walked out of the shop and put my vodafone sim in it straight away - no problems.
  • Wel I just ordered the camera (via Quidco), I hope its better than the experience I had when I bought the J110 from them where they credited the £10 on one mobile number and sent me a SIM card for another!

The wallpaper now shows Big Ben and dark clouds because of the time of day, will be bright blue skys in the morning!

There are some shooting stars going through the night sky to tell me I have some text messages (think this shows as fireworks if it is daytime).
Hey sb44, have you got the balloon on your display showing the battery status? I've changed the wallpaper setting to "theme" so I've got Big Ben switching between night and day, but there's no sign of any balloon.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not really that bothered about lots of advanced features on a phone, and it tends to be the little things that impress me or put me off. For instance, I really think the Sony Ericsson feature that lets you view the battery meter status as a PERCENTAGE is such a simple but effective feature (I don't know whether there are other makes of phone which also share this feature). When you get a phone (such as the Samsung E590) which only has a 3 bar battery meter, you're never quite sure when you need to charge it up. If it's showing just 1 bar, you don't know whether it's 33% charged or 1% charged. Hopefully, the falling balloon on the "uGo" theme might provide a more accurate measure of battery charge.

If anyone can offer advice as to how to get the balloon to show, I'd be very grateful. :D

  • hi, my first post on this website

basically i wanted to help in sumone in if they should buy the phone

having read sumone reviews and doing the mistake of buying this phone i can say its really is not a good phone

the camera is low quality in prodcuing the end result in photos- especially for a 3 megapixel camera it should be much better.

but the main problem with the phone is that it has a terrible and i mean very very hard to use joystick keypad. very hard to text and simple menus become a stuggle due to the design of the joystick keypad

also the speaker quality is not the clearest in the world

would not reccomend to most people.

hope it helped in someone saving some cash- just look around shops and get a better phone even if you pay a little extra.. its not worth saving some cash for a useless phone
  • o and the battery is not too good either

Mine has not been charged for 3 days but I haven't used it much.

The only thing that bugs me is the keypad automatically locks every few seconds so you have to press unlock before you can do anything on the phone. Good if you are scared of ringing anyone accidentally but a otherwise a bit of a pain. Does anyone know if you can take this facility off?

Go to PHONE SETTINGS > EXTRA SETTINGS and untick "keypad lock". Unfortunately, there's no option to vary the time period when the keypad lock automatically kicks in - it's just either on or off (so if you switch it off you'll just have to remember to lock the keypad manually, as the buttons ARE very sensitive - especially the camera button on the side).
