Update- 'Offer finished' ; (Thu 20.03.08)
Saw the posts here for the Samsung E590 yesterday. Great I want one! Unable get to a Carphone Warehouse.
Went today, (Thu.) a forty mile return journey.
Walked in and asked Have you a Samsung E590 on Orange payg please?
Half expecting to be told 'Sorry sold out'
But no, the answer was "Yes sir, but in case you were hoping to get for £29.99".
"I'm afraid Head Office has increased the price back up to £49.99 this morning".
Oh .... (bother!?) says I. Have you a Sony Ericsson J110i (seen on another thread), that I could look at please?
"Sorry sir, just sold the last one an hour ago". "Can have one in for Tues."
But as it is dearer (£4.95 + £10 top up/credit) than the £2.95 + shown on-line (+Cashback points avail). I considered would be better to buy on-line.
Checked on-line again this evening, click 'buy'. "x Out of stock"
Not my day I guess!
(Incidental note. Carphone Warehouse (shop) manager confirmed (no surprise) that The J110i does Not qualify for the £10 money off for old phone. Apparently offer only applies to phones over a certain price. Think was about £40 or £50, don't remember exactly).Hey O, Listen What I Say O.0 -

CPW are getting as bad as any other retailer - went in yesterday and saw the J110 and Nokia 2310 - the latter at £19.99 and I think the J110 was £2.95. When I started walkink away he said that the Nokia was now £14.99 - when I mentioned a trade in, he said no problem he'd give me £10 for one. I asked if I needed the charger etc, but he said just the phone woruld do "working or not as we chuck them away"
Today I was in another store and he said that the phone was £19.99 and for a trade in I needed the box manual and charger (which I didn't have) - Mind you the same person had just sold a woman a "handset only" for £260 when she could have bought it on Pay as you gor for £89 ?????0 -
The Samsung website shows this phone having a LED flash and the balloon showing the amount of charge in the battery. I e-mailed Samsung about this and the following is their reply.
With reference to your email regarding your Samsung E590, the handset does not have an LED flash. The display you see on the handset on the internet for the balloon, was a prototype and was not carried forward to our handsets.0 -
I went in to the site on the link you sent and actualy preferred the E250, so I have ordered this for delivery tuesday. It is sliding, has camera and video. Total cost including airtime was £34.95 - great deal and the cheapest around - Tesco was more expensive even with the airtime.
I wanted a phone for a new job, where I have to be in touch by mobile - I didn't want to use my own - so thought this would make a good job. Now though, this phone is better than mine, so I will be swopping sim cards as soon as it arrives.
Thank you for your post, it has got me a new cheap phone.
