Morning all.
I am new to all of this and am thinking of joining SW if I can find one near me. My best friend has been doing it for 2months now with fantastic results. I really want to loose a stone but I always feel hungry when I diet.
Do you think I would be better finding a class now or waiting until after xmas - oh and if you don't mind me asjking - how much is it?New surname New start!

Hi MinniMe!
Personally I'd join now--I haven't been going long but had fab results from week 1, so the sooner the better would be my feeling, plus having the website info and support over Christmas must be good. (Even if you don't lose it might help you to gain/eat less, if you see what I mean).
It costs £10 to join and £4.50 per week, plus I'm finding my food bill's gone up a bit (there are 4 of us though). But there are often 'first week free' or half-price joining offers on. I think I spend less on 'junk food' less popping to the offie, and so on. Main thing is it's a VERY easy diet I never feel hungry on it.
Pus, once you get to 'target' (which you set), you can keep going for free.Anytime;)0 -
well I continued to self destruct in spectacular fashion last night as I was going to bed I polished off a full pack of Bahlsen Afrika biscuits - that's about 36-40 syns ish :eek:
off work now back on Wednesday and going to meet a lass shortly that I am gifting a Canon EOS 1000fn 35mm film camera to (Freecycle) and what an amazing coincidence - she is going to Pripyat in January (google it) and it's somewehre I've very strongly fancied going to - what an amzaing coincidence eh ?
Ah well better eat a bit better today:o

Ok first things first, I don't think of it as a diet, this is simply a different, more healthy way of eating. Thinking of it as a diet suggests, at some point, I will go back to 'normal' eating and these old habits are what made me overweight in the first place.
I, personally, am rarely hungry eating the SW way and if I do get an attack of the munchies then, quite simply, I'll eat something preferably synfree of low in syns. If I were you I'd do a little research about SW get you head in gear etc. and then join after Christmas, although others will probably disagree, it's only 2 weeks away afterall. Price wise it's £4.50 a week and there's usually a joining fee too, although there are usually special offers on. If you join us on here too that will help , we're our own little support group and can usually answer questions etc. Hope that helps. When Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -

I do that all the time:o  with crisps/beer, no idea how i'm still losing, but I ain't knocking it! probably cos I'm always busy, lol. Still, I love SW!!!:j :j

Oh well, self destruct week is over.... I had a christmas party at the weekend and went a bit overboard with the Vodka (probably had several weeks worth of syns in one night  ) then there was the several pieces of stollen cake.... and crumpets.....
Managed to pull back something and only gained ½lb which is the first gain I've had since I started in April 08 - which I'm well chuffed about as it could have been a lot worse.
I'm going to be back on track from today and am currently planning my christmas menu.... trying to work out how best to fit my homemade "16 syn per serving" christmas pud into the plan  .
As for special offers in group, I find the countdowns work well. Fair enough it is a big outlay to start with but you get either 1 or 2 weeks free depending on what one you get and it does motivate you to attend each week.
On another topic, has anyone ever thought of starting a thread just for recipes? It would be nice to have one so that we can all find different recipes to try out.In spite of the cost of living, it’s still popular :eek:0 -
sorry but what is the countdown offer?New surname New start!
