rob - after the initial weightloss (which is usually water loss and the shock to your body of different eating habits) you won't lose more than a few pounds a week - its the right way to do it if you want it to stay off.
You've eaten perfectly from what I can see in your posts, so I think you'll lose a few this week, don't worry.0 -
ok , thanks guys , i think i worry i will put it back on and at least losing 4-6lbs i feel better in myself

I went to my 1st sw meeting last wednesday and to be honest was completely confussed. I have been following the instructions as much as i can but to be honest the leader didnt really explain much. This is why i have ended up here. I have been reading through but obviously not the whole thread as far too long. I am not looking forward to having to explain to the group why i have put on weight (if i have). Anyone have any tips for a newbie other than avoid the chocolate (will eat it all if it is here!).
If an item is on the Free foods or Superfree foods pages of your book, then those items don't have to be weighed or measured - they can be eaten freely at any time of the day, or indeed, night:).
Every day you should have your healthy extras, 1 or 2 from the A list and 2 from the B list. These are NOT free foods and therefore have to be weighed and/or measured carefully.
Also daily is a little dose of syns. Between 5 and 15 every day (don't skimp on these, it won't help in the long term). Again, these are NOT free foods and so have to be carefully weighed.
Drink as much water, sugar-free squash, weak tea/coffee as you like through the day (a minimum of 2½ litres is recommended), using milk, if necessary, from your healthy extra A.
Both plans work in exactly the same way but they have different free foods and SOME different healthy extra Bs.
Stick with the Original (red) and Green plan for now - have all green or all red if you wish, but vary your meals as much as possible to ensure you get a good mix of nutrients.
If you get stuck, ring your Consultant for advice, that's what she gets paid for after all. Please don't worry about it, I always tell my new members that I'd rather they rang me 4 times a day than that they were stuck for a week till the next meeting, not knowing what to do.
Just trust that it will work (I promise it will) and eat your fillI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Rob - I can sympathise because I always think I should be losing around 4 pounds a week - but it just doesn't happen! I think you are doing just fine - yes you are following slimming world but you also have a life and you have shown that the two can go together!
Here is what I am having today:
Breakfast - yogurt, mixed berries and scan bran followed by egg and bacon. (free + 2.5 syns)
Lunch - Homemade leek, potato and ham soup and a kellogs goodness bar- (free+4syns+ half of a heb)
snack - 2 satsumas
Dinner - Pasta bake with quorn mince in value pasta sauce with extra vegetables on the side (free+free+2syns+free)
late snack - yogurt and banana and kellogs goodness bar(free+other half of heb)
syns - will have some but again not sure what and when but will try to have the full 15 I am supposed to have:o!

LouiseJ, on a red day I normally have a small wholemeal roll (HEB) and then fill it up with loads of meat, chicken or lean ham. I find that this really does fill me up. I have thought of having some chicken pieces with salad.
This thread moves so quickly and I love catching up the following morning, thanks to all those who contribute it keeps me motivated!

Hi everyone, a bit quiet on here today isn't it? What am I missing out on?
Hi to all newbies, Well done to ALL even if you've gained, you're still here so thats a positive step in the right direction. Can I just say, again, what a great place this thread is, if I'm struggling a quick catchup on here usually puts me back on track. Anyways, I had a good loss last week of 1.5lbs taking me to just 1lb away from my 4 st award, I really hope that I've shifted that this week, although I've had an uppy downy sort of week. I helped out at the school Christmas fayre at the weekend and I had lots of lovely comments from people about my weightloss, I'm guessing that was because I was in my 'civvies' of jeans and fitted top, whereas they normally see me in my workgear of trackie bottoms, baggy polo shirt/sweatshirt, anyway it really boosted me. I was out for a Christmas meal on Saturday too where I was good, sort of , oh ok I did have breaded mushrooms for starter and an icecream sundae for pud but I only had one glass of wine and stuck to water with my meal. I felt positively virtuous and I didn't really feel that I was missing out at all by not drinking at the same pace as the others, which really surprised me and was a great achievement for me. I've been relatively ok since too, although my hand did , accidently you understand, slip into the biscuit barrel on Monday and I really couldn't tell you why, hey ho! I can also feel I'm coming down with something today, feel a bit achey, scratchy throat and my brains a bit fuzzy, although my family would argue that the brain thing is normal for me! I'm really hoping to get that 4st award tomorrow, everyone send me positive vibes please.
Keep going everyone, we can do this, put the bad days behind us ( once you've eaten something you can't un-eat it afterall!) and stick to the plan as consultant31 says, it really does workWhen Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -

Ok, not going to weigh in tonight. Had surgery on Monday, that was fine, but woke up the next day with a really bad cold or something. My chest is hurting now and sore throat with bad cough. Just tried to get a doc's appointment but there are none!Oh well, even the cream cake that I have just eaten hasn't helped me feel better!
