I have had my first gain since I joined SW:o only 1lb but still a knock to my confidence as I know I only have myself to blame after a takeaway fest last week as I had the flu and just wanted to eat something easy and quick.

Need to get my Mojo back:cool:

I am struggling for things to take in a packed lunch on an original day that will fill me up????
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • I was doing really well today.....Until I got the munchies at 4.30 and had 2 choccy digestives from the team biscuit tin at work. Then a colleague came back from Clacton of all places, with small sticks of rock and gave me one of them, That disappeared in seconds - I love rock!

Any ideas how many syns in a small stick of peppermint rock?!
I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them, but they were only satellites
It's wrong to wish on space hardware
    I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care

Just popped in to say hello, welcome to any newbies, well done to any losers, and sts's. If you have had a gain don't fret too much keep on with the plan. xx

I feel like utter carp today and have spent most of the day asleep. On good news though I was too heavy for the bathroom scales and I got on them today and they didnt scream OVERLOAD!! :)

I went to my 1st sw meeting last wednesday and to be honest was completely confussed. I have been following the instructions as much as i can but to be honest the leader didnt really explain much. This is why i have ended up here. I have been reading through but obviously not the whole thread as far too long. I am not looking forward to having to explain to the group why i have put on weight (if i have). Anyone have any tips for a newbie other than avoid the chocolate (will eat it all if it is here!).

Just stick to the basics slm6002 - don't worry about Mix2Max or Success Express just get your head around the green and original days and your free food.

We're here to answer any questions no matter how silly you might think it is!

Don't forget you can have chocolate - just weigh it before you eat it and syn it - there's nothing you can't eat on SW!

I'm sure if you've followed it you won't have put on any weight, and although its daunting having to explain it in class its only so you can see where its going awry. If you say 'I don't know' then your consultant might help you find out - thats also why you have to fill in the food diaries for the first four weeks. I discovered I was having 'free' peas on a red day which I shouldn't have

Think of it like this to start with:

Red day: Unlimited meat but no potatoes, rice or pasta.
Green day: Unlimited potatoes, rice and pasta but no meat.

Then there's healthy extra "A" choices and healthy extra "B" choices.

Anything else that isn't "free food" is syns. Aim for between 5-15 syns per day. In theory you can roll unused syns into the week, giving 105 per week, but it's best to spread them out. But you can't roll one week into the next, and you can't roll healthy extras.

There's obviously more to it than that, but that's how it was explained to me in my early days, get your head round that idea to begin with. Then you can start building out from there.
