I think everyone is feeling the pinch, with regards to the current financial climate.

Keep coming to this forum as there are quite a few S.W peeps doing it without class

    :)
I've made the difficult decision to stop going to group. My working pattern has made attending erratic (I do the kind of job where I sometimes have to stay late as some work can;t wait until the morning) and my lack of money means that some weeks I have been literally sticking my hands down the sofa trying to find change!

I'm hoping that I can still do ok alone. I will text my consultant and let her know. I feel bad as she's helped me, but I will see how it goes and may be start again in the new year.

I did that broccoli bake from the latest mag and it was very tasty, however it did take a while and had a lot of ingredients so I found it a bit of a faf.
A couple of days later I took someones advice and has a broccoli pasta in sauce with added broccoli and threw a bit of vlf cheese from HA on top and it was very similar and took very little time to make. I really enjoyed it.
I also did the goulash, I threw all the stuff in the slow cooker and had it when I cane in from work, it is proper winter warmer food, it was lovely!

Thats good to know I am going to try that tomorrow and was intending to put it in the slow cooker. Never used mine before so thought it was about time I did!

Success!! :j The Broccoli Bake was very nice indeed. We all had it, even DS who usually eats only VERY plain stuff. There were plenty of potatoes so it filled the males up. I used a spot of chilli powder, because I hadn't got chilli flakes. We had it with lean pork slices (which I had as my HE). I used everything else though including the fresh parsley, because it's so much ncer than dried.

It looked really nice and golden brown on the top and there is a small bit left which probably DH will eat cold later!;)

This is my first EVER Green day, I usually stick to Original and I have to say, if this was syn-free, then I think I'm going to like it!

Chaos I was in the same boat as you and I stopped going to class earlier this year.
I didnt know about this thread then and i went off the tracks and put on all the weight I had lost.:o
But I decided to do it again as the plan really works for me (its my willpower that is the problem) and I cant afford to go to class and cant always make it due to work, but I have been going alone for five weeks and I am doing really well so far.
This thread is the only support I get, my DH has a wonderful bod and he says I'm perfect as I am and dont need to lose weight (bless him) so he does not understand and my best friend is a size 8 and I have no one else to talk to about it.
So far with the help of these lovely folks I have lost 1 stone in 5 weeks. Thanks everyone and Chaos just tag along, I dont post often but read every single post every day and it really does help Thanks folks :T :T

  • OK guys n gals question if I may.

If I have decided I have had such a **** day , to end such a **** week (like today/this week for example) that I am not making anything to eat and going to have takeaway or ready meal , which of the following is least destructive to my weight loss endeavours:

    1) Fried rice with Curry and a chip muffin (my current fave choice)

    2) Haddock and Chips (sometimes accompanied by a buttered muffin ...... or two :o:o)

    3) A pizza (very large - 14 in) - potential;y a veggie one

    4) A ready meal - most often - Tesco Taste the difference (or whatever their posh/expensive versions are called) Red Thai Chicken Curry with Egg fried rice

    and lastly

    5) Chiese takeaway of Malaysain Chicken Curry with Rice ...ehm and sometimes chips too :o:o

    would appreciate pointers n opinions

    thanks

OMG!! Will you not feel better tomorrow if you look back on tonight and remember how restrained you were and how even though you had a sh*&ty week you ended it on a high and felt much better for it.
Saying that........ if you have to have one of them then syn it first just so you know the damage. I would think the home made meal might be the least damage but check to be sure. ;)
