Sorry to see you go for a while...you are always an immense help to others on this board...before you def go to SF, have you thought about doing the Fast Forward plan..might just give your body the shake up you need. Just a thought.

    Take care

Welcome caroljayne and jess! We all here to help each other and there's no such thing as a silly question - we all had to learn somewhere!

Anyway, a bit of a shock announcement! (Still getting used to it myself) I'm 'leaving' SW! :o

As much as its second nature to me (after 6 years!) its just not working for me for the last 6 months however good or bad I am. I'm off to try something else (Slimfast :o ) until Christmas. SW is a great plan and I know I'll come back to it as it suits me very well (loving the potato's, pasta and most Quorn too!) (And I have lost 6stone in total on it!)

I'll be around for any help I can give (I'm not always right but I do try!) but I hope you'll all understand!

Thanks fluffynit, I have thought about it. Unfortunately I've texted and tried to talk to my consultant several times but with three big classes straight after one another she doesn't have time for anyone, so I never got to discuss it with her. Plus I've given her £4.50 a week for the last six months and it hasn't worked. That £4.50 will pay for 12 slimfast meals a week with no breakfasts and lunches to pay for aswell unlike SW!

Plus I'm actually more likely to stick with Slimfast than Fast Forward as strange as it seems  Don't worry, I'm still around and will be back to it in January (probably attending a different class & consultant!)

So I guess all in all I'm not really going anywhere!

Ive lost 3lbs this week, thats 5lb in total since starting again 3 weeks ago, im quite happy but realise i need to get more exercise to lose a bit more. last time I did SW i was losing around 3-4lbs a week I think its because I used to walk for 2 hours with the buggy nearly everyday, but ive moved to a village now and im not sure about taking the buggy on the country roads so Im doing virtually no exercise. Id love to lose another few pounds before I dare try on my swimming cossie again.
I live on my own with 2 toddlers so dont have a babysitter very often so find it difficult to get to any classes, what do you all do for exercise (body magic)? I fancied a trampette. Im rubbish at fitness dvds.

  • Hello - tail between my legs - mind if I join you all again? :o I am trying yet another tactic after I failed to stick to either WW points or core. I did however learn two very important lessons.

    1) I feel like I have got more of a control on portions, or more accurately stopping eating when I am full. I had gone waaay overboard with SW, doing silly things like cooking enough for 2 meals and ending up eating the lot in one go. I feel like Points taught me what a realistic potion size was, and Core taught me to look for the signs of satisfaction and stop eating when I was full, rather than clear my plate. But I just found both of them too restricting. I was left hungry at the end of the day, and couldn't stick purely to fruit or veg as between meal snacks on core.

    2) Core reminded me that I feel so much healthier when I eat mainly food closer to its raw source, like lots of pulses and vegetables.

I just don't feel like any diet is sustainable if you are told you are NOT allowed X Y or Z, and I like a treat at weekends or a meal out occasionally.

So I am going to try a SW/Core plan/own plan hybrid (hear me out here!) in that I'm going to just eat sensibly, 3 "normal" meals a day, I'm not going to worry if I have too many HEbs (although that will be unusual because I'm not a big fan of meat and I'm going to eat high fibre cereal but not bread), I'm going to try to eat as close to "source" as possible (i.e. as natural and unprocessed as possible) but if I occasionally feel like a meal of pizza and oven chips I'm not going to deny myself it. Most importantly of all, I'm going to STOP EATING WHEN I FEEL FULL!!! - I know a lot of people are probably sitting their now going "duh" but I had lost all sense of that.

I'm not too sure about how successful I'll be with losing weight, but I think if I stick to the above principals its got to be worth a try, and I think my health will benefit from it. Wish me luck! :D

For dinner this evening going to have prawns, stirfry veg, and those egg noodles ( dried ones in pkt that you cook abit first) any way how would you count the egg noodles they are in separate nests of 50g each ? could i have a whole one or just half 25g

    :T :T Congratulations Nic and Moose! Brilliant losses.:T :T

Welcome back naturally - this is my second attempt and I came slinking back to this thread a few weeks ago too. I think you are right to mix the plans up if that is what works for you, a very restrictive plan always produces a great weight loss (if you stick to it that is) but it is rarely sustainable. I feel a bit like that about these lighter life and slimfast programmes (sorry skint_catt :o ) too, they give the results but you have to re-train yourself after you finish to eat normally again, some people can do it no problem and some can't.

My opinion is that a healthy weight loss programme is about finding a sustainable way that works for you that you can adapt and carry on throughout your life.

Good luck with it and keep us informed.

250g of plan boiled noodles are free on green and 15.0 sysn on Red, therefore your nest of 50g will only be 3 syns.

Edit: Or why not go green as you dont seem to have had any other red stuff today so far - and have loads of noodles and no prawns (or a few and syn them as you have had 2 HB's).
