  • How many of you on here attend SW each week and how many of you go it alone?

I'm wondering because I have only been going for 2 weeks however I have just come across the live on 4k for the whole year challenge and the extra £4.95 p/w seems an unnecessary expense.

I know that attending each week helps with the willpower but with moneysaving principles in mind it might be worth me saving the cash and trying to get the debts down.
  • hiya.

i am new to this forum, so be nice!!

i went to a slimming world for a while last year, and really got into the plan, but then life events took over and i stopped, and am now determined to get back on track.

i can't afford to attend the groups which i was really worried about, thinking that i would have no suport. but now i have found this little treasure of a thread and feel a little better - i hope that i can come on here and post my achievements, set backs and have a good old natter and share ideas.

i know it is going to be a long haul, but every small step counts. and talking on here is one of my first!!

thanks, hope to get to know you all a little better

    :hello:

I couldn't do SW without going to weigh-in each week - I get my support from here as I don't stay to class but without that regular making myself go and weigh-in (and the worry that comes before) I just wouldn't stick with it. But everyone's different! £5 a week is expensive but I HAVE to reach my target weight so its a small (or not so small) price to pay.

I'm a go-it-aloner. I read my sister's book and started from that on a very basic plan, and then one of my staff started doing it and going to class so I picked her brains when I needed to. She is now doing WW as she feels she needs a change. I like being on this thread, although I did it alone last time so I know I can do it again.

Well, I am now exhausted. My poor tree is wrecked (neighbour and DH cut it between them, and I don't think it will ever be the same again). We've spent all afternoon sawing and shredding and have done about 2/3 of it, but really need to stop now before we kill ourselves. The green bin is full, the flower beds have more mulch on than they can use in years, there is a stack of logs in the garden, and there's still a load more to do. Might pop over to OS now to see if anyone local needs firewood!

2cats1kid - if I was closer I'd take some off you but I'm not :( OH's dad has two log burners and it would be great for him. If no-one wants it on there I see quite a lot going on Freecycle.

I may not be entirely strict but will do my best, as I really don't want to put on the amount of weight I put on with my last two.

ooooh congrats mel - I didn't know you were pregnant!

Soooooooo jealous. I desperately want babies but OH is worried about health/complications so won't until I'm down to target. Really upsets me when I see huge women (and I'm not saying you're one!!!) with babies - OH just doesn't see it. :(
