iluvslimmingworld - don't be too upset - stick to it and if it was due to your star week it will show this week aswell as this weeks loss.
Raapunbird - good luck!
Naomi - now I am confused - a 3 syn difference (per chicken leg?)
A chicken leg on green is 7 syns so why would it be so much lower in syns cooked in honey and mustard. Honey alone would have been 3 syns (Mustard is 0.5 syn per tsp) I would guess. Is there anything in the foreword of the cookbook?0 -
Ok girls.....
I have the Comfort foods book in front of me.
It clearly says (for a skinless drumstick virtually no 'sauce'.... 4 tbsp honey, 3tbsp soy, ginger, lemon, for 24 drumsticks)
1/2syn each drumstick on original
3 1/2 syns each on green
This also basically agrees with my book which says, chicken drumstick barbequed/roasted, skin removed average each R free / G 3.5
So by all means, follow green, eat your 1 or 2 a's, 2b's and have your chicken drumstick as 3.5 syns, but remember the amount of dressing is teeny if you are only preparing a few - the recipe is for 24 pieces!!!!A chicken leg on green is 7 syns so why would it be so much lower in syns cooked in honey and mustard. Honey alone would have been 3 syns (Mustard is 0.5 syn per tsp) I would guess. Is there anything in the foreword of the cookbook?
A chicken LEG is 7, a drumstick (the smaller bit of the leg piece) is 3.5. The recipe only uses 4tbsp homey for 24 pieces of chicken! No mustard. soy, lemon, ginger.
Also to help another question - the comfort food books (and other similar ones) do not assume you are using HE's within the recipes. They are all syn counted for the daily plans, so you would have them in addition to your HE's.0 -
Hi everyone back from WI lost another 2lb and got my 1 and a half stone award, weight loss slowing down now ,may try mixing it a bit what do you think?December 2011 Sesky Watch, strimmer, tv, hoover & steam cleaner. March 2012 Straw dogs blueray film.0

I prefer green days but when things start slowing I throw in a few red days, up my water intake and try and take a bit more exercise which usually kick-starts things off again. Good luck!3/9/2008 - !! stone 10 lb. 56 lb to lose.
11/9/2008 - !! stone 4 lb. 50 lb to lose.
17/9/2008 - !! stone. 46 lb to lose.
24/9/2008 - !! stone 46 lb to lose.
20/10/2008 - !! stone. 60 Ib to lose. OMG. :wall:0 -
Apart from anything, the variety of mixing it will be good. I've probably been doing mostly red, but I've noticed in my group those who are the most successful losers mostly do green days.0

I've been doing mostly red too, so think I'll try a couple of green days.December 2011 Sesky Watch, strimmer, tv, hoover & steam cleaner. March 2012 Straw dogs blueray film.0

Hi guys!
WI tonight and a loss of 2.5lbs, so happy with it. I think I'm going to start alternating green and red days, no more solid green days! Finally a decent loss
Every one of the ladies in my group lose weight differently, some more on green and some more on red. Some even are angels and maintain be very frustrated but the week after they can lose a lot of weight.
I'm going for a long weekend in Edinburgh next weekend so I'll be missing next weeks weigh in. Hopefully all the walking will help with the naughty foods I'll be munching :P
Keep your chin up girls who are finding it hard!

Isn't it funny - our group is mainly red, and by far they lose the greatest amount week on week. It is really motivating hearing you say that the sucessful losers in your group follow the green plan.
For the last 6 or 7 weeks I have been 98% red.... I however my loss has started to slow down, so I have chosen to do a full week on green and see what happens....
.... apart from anything else, so far this week I am enjoying eating completely different foods!0 -
