  • hmmm... I understand the too many eggs sentiment!

I do however menu plan on the household calendar, so I have been able to pull all this out very quickly! I have only included red lunches that don't include bacon or eggs!

Lunches this week (all red) have been:

butternut squash salad (with a yoghurt/cumin dressing)
omlette (yeah yeah - I know!)
pate on toast (B) - the meatloaf I mentioned, cold
    carrot soup
marrow soup (guesss what my garden gluts are this year!)
giant mushrooms, grilled, on toast (B)
sardines (tinned in tomato sauce) on toast with vinegar - yum!

Other lunch ideas from the past include:

smoked salmon and salad (doesn't cost a fortune if you go to aldi etc)
    leftover roast chicken
Onion soup (using a beef stock cube for 0.5 syns)
salmon or prawn with stir fry veg in soy
fajita (skirt steak (cheap), fried with spices, lots of onions and peppers, wrapped in little gem lettuce leaves)
    hm chicken burger with salad
    tandoori chicken and salad
    celeriac soup
    kippers

hope one or two of these inspire  I can't help with breakfast though - I eat yogurt, hubby eats fruit. The only things that change are the flavours of yogurt and the choice of fruit!

Don't you dare give up insincere! You have made a good start by committing to do this, and there are plenty of people on here who have made far bigger mistakes than that, believe me.

    You'll be fine.

drain a 400g can of chickpeas, deseed and roughly chop a red pepper; crush 3 garlic cloves, place in a food processor with the juice of 1 lemon, a pinch of cayenne pepper and 7oz/198g very low fat natural fromage frais and blend until smooth. season to taste and chill til ready to serve.

But I just blended 1 tin of chickpeas with 3 cloves of garlic and juice of half a lemon and it was really nice

Thanks for this recipie..i love hoummus so will definitely be trying this:beer:

Well i've put 2lb on over the past couple of weeks which although i'm not happy about it it could have been a lot worse. This means i know have 7lbs t lose to get to target, so i'm getting all my books out today and i'm going to start writing everything down again.

Also is the new mag worth getting? Sometimes i find them really motivational and others i just flick through and look at the pics:D

Anyway it feels like brekkie time to me..must eat:p

:naughty: Now, thats quite enough of that sort of talk thank you.

Right - onto business - so far, so good. :D Cous cous IS free on green, when used as part of your savoury dinners. It simply shouldn't be used as a flour subsitute (ie in a cake).

Tomato puree is ONLY 0.5 syns per tablespoon - Just count it and you can have it - a tablespoon here and there DOES make a big difference to flavour, so is often worth the small syn count.

Remember that you should have some syns each day - up to 15 is allowed.

You have made a great start - I found SW tricky in the early days - I felt that I shouldn't eat the syns, and tried to exist entirely on free food. In another week or so, I am sure you will get the hang of it. Are you a class member? If so, use your book to check as much as possible to start with, and use the website to check for syns elsewhere. I found the online food diary a HUGE help for the first three weeks - It puts things in the right section (A's and B's and syns) so you know you are getting it right...

When is your first weigh in? Let us know how you get on, and ...

    take care :T
