I did exactly that a couple of weeks ago, but with size 12 jeans..u get it into your head that they couldn't possibly fit.
The dedication has paid off0 -

why starve
just have free food, you are entitled to it
have plenty of water too0 -
Does anyone know of any ribs that are free on a red day? I'm guessing most will be synned due to the sauce, but the lowest possible would be appreciated - getting bored on red days as I just eat the same old thing!

I
For me, it was far too vinegary and also far too sweet, and id have like it to be thicker with a more savory tomato kick.
But the essentials are there. I'm going to try blending a small jar of tomato purree instead of passata, adding a teaspoon of vinegar, a teapoon of sweetner and a teaspoon of worchester sauce and again adding more to taste.
Just a warning - tomato puree is 0.5syns per level tablespoon. You could be looking at a fair few syns if you add a whole pot of it. sorry0 -
Just found this:
SYN FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toffee Cous Cous Cake
Sin Free on Green
!
Sorry, bearer of bad news again....:o
Cous cous cannot be used in a cake - it would have to be synned. It used to be OK, but is not Ok in the current rules.
I have attended a couple of classes - one counts it as fine (because it used to be), the other class say that you have to count it (and it works out as quite a lot of syns).
Consultant31, I am fairly sure, will back me in that under the current rules, this is a 'misuse of free food' and therefore NOT free.
sorry again
btw, I have tried it (several times) and whilst not disgusting, it certainly is odd, and not sponge or anything similar. Put it another way, I wouldn't chose to eat it even if free......0 -

Try SPEED foods instead (look for the S and the SS in your handbook) - fill up and the weight should fall off!0 -

Hi Skint Catt
I think ribs are a hard one, as I *think* they are the same cut as belly pork - ie not lean meat and therefore not great news, before you even account for the sauce... According to the syns online, a 160g portion of ribs from a chinese restaurant are 8.5 on red (17.5 on green)...
Sorry to hear that you feel stuck in a rut though, what food are you eating too much of on red? Maybe between us we can find some different suggestions for you.
For example, I made a meatloaf for the first time this week. It was delicious as a main meal (with a tomato sauce, potatoes (B) and veg) - but when cold, it is almost better as it is sooooo similar to pate!! So the next day we had pate (free! - cold meatloaf) on toast (B) with a lovely salad for lunch!0 -
Thanks angie - too many sausages and bacon (and too many eggs on both days!). I have different meats/fish for dinner but get stuck for free lunches and breakfasts. Just fancied some ribs and wondered. Ah well. I did make a beef curry for lunch last week and it was ok, but couldn't have it every week.0
