just been checking the synvalue of some common things I make eg sausage casserole, chicken chasseur, using the packet mixes, eg batchelors- they are 5.5 syns! any ideas how I can substitue these podwer mixes for something syn free or lower in syns?

How many are you sharing the dish between, even if it just two of you, that is only 2.25 syns each, and if it is between four, then just over 1 syn each .

    Hallo All

Back from hols in Norfolk - had a FAB time, what a lovely place and the weather was beautiful.

I was good when I was away (hada few ice creams and pints of cider but apart from that was food optimising :D ) so am hoping for a good loss on Monday morning, having not been to a WI for 3 weeks!

Busy weekend so can't read all the posts I missed, but hope everyone is well and doing OK!

    Huge hugs, TG xxx

also how come the canned apple slices from asda are synned even though they aren't in any juice or syrup? :S
  • just to let everyone know the asda ripe and juicy frozen fruits frozen aren't free. they are 4.5 syns for blackberries and 5.5 syns for blueberries. i'm not sure why though... perhaps consultant can explain?

All good for you crisps - 6 syns for a 25 gram bag

Good for you choc mousse - 3.5 syns, lemon mousse and strawberry mousse both 2.5 syns.Toffee one not listed but I would say 3 syns as an average?!

Bamboo shoots from lidl not listed.as long as there is no sugar/fat in the liquid they are jarred in they should be free.

No idea about the apples.Probably cos they've been processed so would have a lot less fibre in them,I'd guess.
