Good morning everyone! The sun is shining, it's a lovely day. Here anyway!

Have joined the £ for a lb challenge, will start from this week and put if I can afford it, £5 per lb. Have to save it out of what I would have spent on food before I started SW though.

Seem to have got over last week's blip, and am back eating reasonable amounts where last week I was going mad in the evenings. Its when there's nothing much to do or when I watch TV that I start to want food. I used to do cross stitch and knitting, but gave it up when I had a trapped nerve in my back because it was too painful, and I need to get started again. Must make an effort to get to a craft shop this week.

Best wishes to all of you, hope you do well at W/I,
    polly
  • hi, I would love to joing slimming world but I can't get there :( (two small kids, two bus journeys quite late in evening...no thanks!!) I have all the books and everything and was just wondering if there is anyone who is doing at home just with their books?!!?!? and how the hell do they do it?!?!?!

Thanks Tobys_mummy for the thread link :)
£ for a lb Challenge = total weight lost 3lb total money saved £3
    August £10 a day challenge = £10 / £310
    Sealed pot challenge = £13.64 (started 30.07.08)

I'm doing it at home. And quite sucessfully so far! I've been at it for 2 weeks and feel like I am really getting the hang of it! So much so that I like the mix to match days. Red lunch green tea. I buy old magazines from ebay also if they are cheap (under the price on the front of it!) and I read the recipes etc in there. TBH the magazines are the things keeping me going I think! I have made loads of the recipes now! Friday night I made the pizza using a potatoe base and at the same time I made the meatballs from minced beef with a tomatoe sauce. Just keep plodding along and asking any questions on here you need. I think they must be fed up of me by now ;-) lol. Although I have not had masses of weight loss like 3,4 or even 5 pounds. I have been having a steady loss of around 2lb a week. And that is enough for me. I would rather I loose some than none at all.

    Hi All,

just wanted a bit of advice if you wouldn't mind! I am basically following SW on my own (without a group) but luckily I work with a girl who does run a class which is handy and I can get all the magazines and bars etc at work.
This is now week number 2 and I think as far as I know, I have followed it to the letter but don't 'feel' any different if you know what I mean?
The problem is, I don't weigh myself (long story and I know it sounds ridiculous but I break out in a cold sweat when I go near them)! So I basically know by the way my clothes fit whether I'm doing alright or not.
Today I'm on red and made for the first time some lamb burgers (lamb mince, chopped onion, salt and pepper and home-made mint sauce) I used a wholemeal roll as a healthy extra.
I part cooked the burgers in the oven first (as grill not working)! for 10 mins and then on the george foreman as I know lamb is quite fatty.
Does this sound ok? I know I would have to count the mint sauce as a sin but the rest should be free? They were delicious I must say which made me a bit sceptical.
    Many thanks in advance

Well, went to weigh in this morning, and despite being on holiday last week I lost 5lb so that makes a total loss of 2 STONE 11LB since the beginning of April.

My next goal (apart from 3 stone!) is 3 stone 3lb which is what my nearly-5-year-old currently weighs!!!!

Good luck to everyone for their WI this week

Well done TractorGirl, you've done brilliantly. Especially with having been on holiday.
