is it possible to lose weight without te support of a group i lost all my excess weight a few years ago and since then have regained it plus. Tried rejoining on numerous occasions but have not managed to get myself back to a weight losing mind set. So i know all about the diet. iIweighed myself this am and i am going to start dieting today so the question is do i join a group or do i go it alone with online support. Your views would be much appreciated.:T
Hi Steww , totally agree with what Studnet has said. Im one of the ones that dont got to a class. I know this is only my second week but i think if your in the right frame of mind you can do it regardless. These are the best group of people . Always someone there to help .

well done Becca thats great and im sure you will get your 2st award next week. :j Its always nice when people start to notice the changes. Keep up the good work

Well done Becca, I'm half a pound away from having lost 2 stone, I can really 'feel' the difference in my body size and shape. I'm probably nearly half way there, towards my target weight but I've only had one comment about noticing that I've lost weight and that was from someone who, I found out later, knew I was going to Slimming world ( obviously the people at group and on here are positive and supportive). Why is it you are made so painfully aware when you're getting the 'god you're getting fat girl' looks and comments, but hardly anyone goes out of their way to say 'have you lost weight/you're looking good/slimmer'.It means so very much to get a comment like that, unprompted.
It's the same at work...................quick to complain when things don't work out but no pat on the back for a job well done!
    Sorry rant over!!! :eek::eek:
I'd be interested to hear others theories though

Hi Lo Bush fingers crossed that you get your 2st award too. Im sure you will. :D:D:D
I always comment on peoples weight loss because i know how it makes you feel when you get positive feedback. It ususally takes a few weeks before you begin to notice yourself , but i think other people notice before you do. I know we see the pounds coming off each week, but sometimes the inches seem to take a little while longer before we notice. My theory is that some people just cant seem to bring themselves to say something nice to anyone and sometimes its a bit of the green eyed monster thing going on.
Me im not paticular ill have a compliment off anyone, i know how good it makes me feel and lets face it we all want to feel good.
So to all of you on here your all looking great:A
and dont let anyone tell you otherwise :D

LoBush - I really hope you get that 2 stone award too! :j That's my next goal too.

I SO agree with you about people making comments about you when you're bigger but not when you lose some. I am waiting for my mother to even notice .... I haven't even told her I'm slimming but she MUST notice soon that there's less of me!:p She used to say "just look at your belly" and "why don't you buy some of those magic knickers?" :rotfl: :rotfl: (She IS 84 by the way!!)

One friend remarked that I'd lost weight but I think that was because another friend told her I was going to SW. ;) Hubby says he can really notice my weight loss but hardly anyone else has said anything.

Mind you the first person who DOES notice will get smothered in hugs and kisses!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hi everyone

Today is weigh in day, but as I have been looking after my granddaughter, I have to go tonight instead of this morning. I think I will probably show a gain, but then I can probably put some of it down to getting weighed at night.

We're on holiday next week, so may put some more on then, but we do lots of walking with the dog, so might not be that bad.

Good luck to anyone else with weigh in tonight

Have to share with you all my yummy tea tonight. I am finding that RED days are suiting us better at the moment, so I fancied gammon and chips

Bought a gammon joint and sliced it at home, making 7 small steaks for the same price as I would normally pay for 4 small precut ones :money: .

Turned 227g potato (skin on - HeB) into crinkle cut slimming world chips - yum yum - supercrunchy :j .

Boiled 80g garden peas (HeB and Speedy too)

Roasted some cherry toms and layed a fried egg over the top!!:D

sooo.... gammon, crinkle cut chips, peas, fried egg and roasted toms :T Call this a diet!!!!!!

It is weigh in tomorrow night - first for a fortnight. Lets hope that I have lost more than 0.5lb and I will get my first shiny sticker!!

Hi everyone! Angie, I just love the idea of you laying a fried egg!! Sorry, it's my wierd sense of humour. Really hope you get your award.

To return to the topic of mugshots, i have tried sweet and sour (too spicy for me) and now tomato and herb, which I think is lovely. BUT is it only the noodle ones that are free and not the pasta ones? I can't find them in Syns Online. Does anyone have the book to look them up for me please? I have also bought but not yet tried the Chow Mien. (they are manufactured by Brand Partnership). Thank you.

All the Noodle mugshots are free, and so is the Tomato pasta one (my favourite). The other pasta ones say 3% fat on the packet (the tomato one is 1%) and are synnable

Well, I stayed the same. If I had lost 1 lb I would have got my Club 10, so maybe if I had been weighed this morning, I would have got it :o

Oh well, maybe when I get back off holiday

Yippee!! lost 1.5lb this evening, earning a little 1/2 stone sticker and a feeling of being really rather chuffed - I got there eventually!!

It was obviously a good night tonight as I also won a years free slimming world magazines by suggesting the best (as voted for by the class) new recipe idea on green - I told them about my Ricotta and Pumpkin Canelloni (see page 210 post #4199) - there you heard it here first - my prizewinning recipe!!
